Bar Side Chat noun \’bär sīd chat\

1: an informal talk that takes place adjacent to a counter at which food or especially coffee or alcoholic beverages are served;

2. a: a video created by Fitzgerald’s Bicycles and filmed and produced by Fisher Creative in which Fitzy’s staff discuss a topic related to cycling while drinking coffee from The Nine Bar;

b: a video released once per week by Fitzgerald’s Bicycles in which various members of the Fitzy crew informally discuss products, riding, upcoming events and other topics related to riding and enjoying bikes.

At some point last fall Fitzy was inspired to create a video series dedicated to the coolest products in the shop. We started with one camera, a tripod, two espressos and Jay and Fitzy talking about the new Salsa Mukluk. After re-filming at least once and several edits, we released the Bar Side Chat: Season 1, Episode 1: Salsa Mukluk. Several videos followed before we realized that while we may know tons about bikes and all things cycling, we are just not that great at filming, editing and producing videos. So we called up Mark Fisher and his team at Fisher Creative to help us out.

Mark Fisher and his team at Fisher Creative are awesome. Not only do they produce beautiful films and still photography, but more importantly to us, they get and share our passion for bikes. And because they are filming and editing the footage, we can concentrate on what we do best, helping our customers get fired up to ride their bikes.

One of our resolutions for 2013 is to film and release a new Bar Side Chat each Wednesday. In each episode we’ll talk about all things cycling: from the coolest new products in the shop to what to wear for a fat bike ride or why you should go to the 2nd Fat Bike Summit & Festival. We hope our Bar Side Chats will educate you about the newest products & bikes, help you decide what products are going to make cycling more fun for you, and perhaps entertain you a bit. So look for a new Bar Side Chat each Wednesday on our Facebook page, on our Home Page or at our You Tube Channel. And you can always go back to find an “old” bar side chat on our website.
