Sales Associate - Full Time Seasonal. Available March/April through September/October. Sales Associates at Fitzgerald's are passionate riders with a variety of cycling interests. The avid commuter, roadie, downhill-er, xc rider, or racer makes for a great potential sales associate as long as they love to ride and hold no judgments against bikers of other disciplines. Like any neighborhood pub, the quality of the experience is dependent on the personality at the front of the house. Before looking for technical knowledge, we're out to find people who have fun personalities, can interact with ANYONE who walks through the doors, and thrives in a fast paced environment. If you like to check email while you wait for the next customer to walk through the door... this isn't the shop for you. Days are spent helping customers with their needs (80% of the time), merchandising the store (10% of the time), and cleaning (10% of the time). The right candidate feels comfortable finding the right product for the customer and selling it to them. Simple... right?
Retail or restaurant experience a plus.
Mechanic - Full Time Seasonal. Available March/April through September/October. The right candidate will have at least two years prior experience working as a bicycle mechanic. Unfortunately we are not in a position to hire the avid home mechanic or graduate from a bicycle repair program wihtout actual shop experience. Our mechanics are on display as an intergral part of our shop so if you like hiding in the back and working with your head down this will not be a good fit. Although we try our best to shield mechanics from the distractions of the sales floor, high level communication skills and a willingness to put the tools down and come forward to help are essential. We have a fast paced shop environment where a job well done is mandatory and a job well done with effieciency is the goal that we are all working towards. We service every type of bike under the sun with a focus on quality road, mountain, and touring bikes.
Barista - The Nine Bar, our amazing in house coffee bar, is looking for an experienced full-time barista. A passion for coffee is mandatory and a passion for bicycles is almost mandatory. If you are this person, then you hopefully also know what other qualities are mandatory in a Barista!
