Haven't ridden a bike since I was a kid. Have been a walker all my life but have Spinal Stenosis & pain when I walk hard. Tried my Verve 2 and was amazed how well I felt after working out. No more pain, am gaining more strength & stamina everyday & enjoying it more. I'm 63 and my Verve 2 will help me extend my years there is no question in my mind.

I bought the Verve 2 to replace an older mountain bike that was no longer appropriate for me and how I ride now (I'm 67). The upright riding position is s huge improvement in comfort for me - no more sore neck and wrists from the racing frame mountain bike. I don't have a lot of accumulated mileage yet, so I will probably discover more likes/dislikes as I get more familiar with it. At this point, the only comment I can make is that the twist-grip shifters feel less precise than the lever type on my old bike. It shifts okay, but the feel of the shifter is a little heavy with "vague" detents. Overall, however, I like the bike a lot and feel that it's a good value for the money - I'm happy.

My first ride on this bike was a twenty-five mile ride on the streets and hills of Pittsburgh. It was made so easy by this bike, I finally found my favorite bike and look forward to riding for years to come! (I'm 67 yrs. young)

Being on the north side of 65 my doctor advised more exercise to stem the increase in weight since retirement. I don't care for mall walking and jogging kills the knees. I decided to do the bike riding thing. WOW was I surprized at how much fun exercise could be. The Vere 2 fit my needs perfectly. It handles great, shifts are both quick and smooth. My rides are a combination of paved roads and gravel tracks and I have had no problems in negotiating them on the Vere's stock tires. I look forward to my rides every day and hope to keep rideing for years to come.

After deciding to start riding again after several years to get back into shape, I pulled my old " big box store" mountain bike out. At 52 I quickly decided this wasn't the bike for me. I did some research and went to the local Trek dealer. I explained what I was looking for in a bike and he pointed me to the Verve. He was right on the money. This bike is well built, good looking, very comfortable, fit my budget and is just plain fun to ride. I now ride about 8 miles every day.
