Simply put, Trek's all-carbon Superfly is an XC rocket. The Superfly’s OCLV carbon frame is incredibly light and efficient and features Gary Fisher’s G2 Geometry with a custom, 100mm-travel G2-specific RockShox fork. For powering the climbs, controlling the descents and dismantling the competition, the Superfly is dialed. Racing or just cruising around, the geometry is just perfect for full-on trail riding: confident, capable and lively. Combine that with the benefits of 29-inch wheels and the product is a super-quick handling, roll-over-anything machine. The parts are just as able. The Superfly is adorned with Bontrager wheels, a precision-shifting 3x10 Shimano drivetrain, ultra-powerful Shimano discs and a light Bonty parts package. Ride it and believe.

I have owned the bike for two weeks now. All I can say is it is simply stunning. Going from an aluminum Marlin to the carbon Superfly seems like night and day. The Superfly's shifting is surgical. The remote switch for the front fork is a very nice addition. Going from smooth trails/roadways to needing the suspension to soak up the bumps is easy as pie. I would definitely recommend this bike to the trail riders any day. I'm really anxious to hit the more advanced trails to really test the limits of this bike. I consider myself intermediate in skill set and look forward to stretching out my repertoire on this gem. I will send an update in the future on how the bike is holding up.

I go on long rides with a melange of singletrack and fire roads. This bike is exceptional aside from the fact that it has a sram front deraileur and a stock chain that will snap like a twig after a week (happened to me during a race). make sure that if you purchase this bicycle to get a new chain and a shimano deraileur, because they make an amazing ride into a chariot of the gods. also if you aren't a climber, this is not the bike for you.

I am recently purchased a 2012 trek (fisher) superfly. I had a fisher x-cal for the previous year. I really like how fast this bike is in all aspects of riding. I use it mostly for riding cross country single track. I can also tell how much stiffer the bike is. The downfalls to this bike are that it comes with heavy wheels, low end sram crank, sram x7 shifters and front derailleur. When getting a near $3k bike you expect to get higher end components rather then x7. The avid brakes are ok. Nothing great. I put on a xo crank and shifters and the bike is now a dream. I set the wheels up tubeless which worked quite well.

Bought this bike as an upgrade from aluminum 29er. Carbon frame is extremely light and fast. Responds quickly. The Fox fork is a great fork. Only possible con is the 3x10 setup. Would prefer 2x10 and might convert myself. Happy riding!!!
