Seems we all want the most bang for the buck - Right . So, why then do people tend to Short Change themselves and buy a host of Cheap imitations before stepping up to the plate for the Real Deal. Trek, the name says it all. You get a great value in any number of designs and types to choose from . Being an Avid rider for years have tried others and still do not see why so many Refuse themselves the JOY of getting what they deserve. Had seen this model posted and checked it stats against some other models in the line. Seeing how we had already purchased another type of Trek months before as a Primary Commute bike - I was in the market to fill the gap as a Secondary use / location bike to keep her goals and efforts more rewarding so, decided to Surprise the Gal Pal with this Number to Really Knock Her Socks Off. From the first test ride till now she is head over Heels in the Mainstream of Happiness. Be it young or old - Male or Female alike will benefit from taking a moment to view and test ride the Brand that sets the standards - TREK - there is no substitute. All that's left to say is believe the Hype for its something that grows from the hoards of satisfied and also repeat customers time and time again . Word to the wise - Select your dealer with caution - Because, some are far better than others. Have had lots of great memories of both the purchase of and the thrills they fill with all the Treks being bought for me and others I know and Care about . In closing need to state or Re-State the importance of being " Fitted " and " Schooled " in the styles and usage of what you are getting . There is ( No Shame ) in asking questions or seeing if another model or version be it higher or lower in one line versus the other will suit you better than just being " On Sale " or Left over stock. Get the Advice from people who Know the Product . It is an Investment in You, the future of the sport / activity in your life, and also the way it makes you feel about the entire process as a whole . We are Very Pleased this Bike and the other Trek is now apart of what we do . You Should make the effort to find the one that is Best for you too.

Got two of these bikes. One for my Wife and daughter. They love the bikes. They work great. Both say best bike they ever had. One thing they don't like is the colors. Both wish they had more pink and purple bikes. Not silver or black.

I use this bike on and off road. The Skye is a well put together, quality bike. I ride every weekend 20+ miles each time and find the bike to be very comfortable. I do wish that it was a little lighter.

I have not found a better bike on the market, even the more expensive competitor brands. If you can't decide between a Hybrid or a Mountain, try this bike...it has EVERYTHING. It doesn't matter if you are on the road or on the rockiest of rocks...this bike is smooth and capable. I look forward to riding every day now. My only complaint is why can't such a great bike come in a 14 or 15" inch frame? I had to go to a 13", which has been a little awkward.

Bought a 2012 Skye base model for my wife, and I am impressed with it. Shimano powertrain works very very smoothly, the Tektro brakes with Avid levels are responsive and efficient, saddle is wide and comfortable for a woman. All in all a much better bike than what you can find at the big box stores, and can be found for a good price. The only con I could come up with is the weight, but the price reflects that. And maybe the fork that does not have any adjustments and it is quite stiff.

My old, run-of-the-mill bike gave up in the middle of the road. I checked out the Trek website and had another model in mind... but the next day I saw the Skye S and... it was love at first sight. :) I liked the color, the sturdy frame, the wide tires, the suspensions and the smoothness of the ride test. The saddle is rather comfortable - I've only used a gel seat cover pre-emptively and for a few days, months after purchasing the bike, as I had to go for a long ride in a different city. I liked to commute using my old bike every now and then, but after getting the Skye S I started cycling the daily 10 km more often: soon enough I stopped taking the bus altogether. I've also biked a few trails and I'm looking forward to spring when I can re-start taking my bike outside for "extended" trips. Six months and 1900 km later (as of last month), I've "winterized" my bike and it seems to be faring well. Excellent bike!

I bought this for our daughter who's tall at 11. It's a great fit and can grow with her. She's confident on it and enjoys riding even more with a very high quality bike. Anyone know where to get a kickstand that fits?

Great bike! Already have a Diamondback Topanga, but the Trek Ske caught my eye. So I bought the Trek. Love love love the Skye. Trek has the best warranty in the industry. I did my homework before purchasing. No regrets. I ride on the street and its such a pleasure. Riding is fun on the Trek. The shop was knowledgeable and never pushy. The size 19.5 is perfect, I am 5'6" and the shop adjusted the seat for the perfect fit. Comfortable, fun ride!
