If your rides start with you wearing sunglasses and end with you using lights, Trek's Remedy 9.9 is for you. This carbon beauty is a roughly 26-pound, 150mm-travel bike that truly defines "all mountain." Hand made in the USA from a mountain-specific blend of Trek OCLV carbon, the 9.9's features read like something that came from NASA: 142x12mm ABP, the stiff E2 head tube, the efficient EVO. And, even the Fox suspension is custom, with both the fork and the shock equipped with DRCV for coil-like awesomeness with the weight and tunability of an air shock. Plus, you'll be able to hang with your XC buddies on the climbs, and your DH buddies on the descents thanks to the sweet component spec: a SRAM 10-speed XX drivetrain, DT Swiss wheels, fat Bontrager tires and even a Reverb dropper seatpost.

This bike just destroys on climbs, descents, and everything. This bike just lets you get away with so much, and you will have so much fun too. Trek, please don't change this bike. Just tweak it, because you have it pretty dialed in.

This bike is fantastic! A real 'Superbike'. It climbs as fast as a dedicated XC bike and decends with confidence.I have ridden all of the best UK trails on this bike and have been seriously impressed. The only downside is the cheap cassette, for the [$] price tag I would expect an XTR or similar.Great work guys!

I have now owned my 9.9 for long enough to write a review. Previously owned an aluminum bike (2008) and the carbon bike blows the doors off the metal bike. I have ridden just about every bike in this class and this is hands down the best. 6lbs even for the frame (large including skewer and seat clamp and headset and of course the peerless 2010 Drcv Boost Valve rp23). Money CAN buy perfection and this is it. I run mine with a 160mm fork to get the 67degree head angle of the previous model year bikes. Will fit a true 2.4" rear tire with room to spare for mud. Do your self a favor and find a demo somewhere and ride this bike. It WILL make you go faster.

For what it was the bike climbed really well and descended even better. Didn't care for the seatpost. Although I didn't really ride it in crazy terrain. Very fun bike.

I have always liked the aluminum Remedy, but the carbon takes it one step farther. This thing is trail bike light, with the ability to tackle serious trails. The carbon armor is a really nice touch as that's my biggest fear with a carbon mtb frame is rock chips. The Stock Joplin is a nice touch as well.

I took this bike out at the Interbike Outdoor Demo, and since I'd ridden the Remedy 8 quite a bit I had a good idea of what to expect from the new 9.9. The lighter bike accelerated up short climbs much more quickly than the aluminum version. Handling was great over pretty much any terrain and the suspension design seems to work as well as on the '09 Remedy. The tires on the bike weren't great on the loose, sandy dirt in Bootleg Canyon so the bike didn't get ridden as fast as it should have been. The Crank Bros seatpost with remote was a very handy feature allowing instant lowering for steeper descents and instant raising for climbs. For someone looking to get the ultimate do-anything bike where cost is no obstacle this is it. For quite a bit less, the Remedy 8 is still a great alternative and you'd worry less about damaging the carbon.

Perfect for trail riding plus. The remedy pedals like a cross country race bike and descends like an all mountain bike. If you spend a lot of time pedaling uphill but enjoy singletrack downhills this could be the perfect bike. If you are considering a SC Blur LT purchase or a intense 5.5, make sure you demo the Remedy. This bike is more plush than either and accelerates better than both.
