For years now, Trek's Madones have set the standard for road cycling excellence, winning everything from local group rides to the Tour de France. The 3 Series continues that hallowed lineage with a frameset that's crafted from Trek's light, stiff 300-Series OCLV carbon. An absolute dream to ride, the Madone 3.1 WSD comes spec'd with Trek's E2 tapered front end so you can slice through corners with pinpoint precision. And cornering or flying down straight roads, Trek's H2 geometry offers the ultimate blend of fine handling and top comfort with a slightly higher handlebar position. Plus, the Madone's choice components offer excellent ride quality, value and reliability, like the 20-speed Shimano drivetrain with SRAM compact crankset for easier climbing and the first-rate Bontrager controls and wheels. The Madone is versatile, too, with discreet rack and fender mounts that let you load up for commuting and off-season rides!

This bike gives me a great workout and it's a kick to ride - smooth, handles bumps well, lightweight and fast. I changed out the seat for one slightly wider with a layer of gel padding and now the bike is just - perfect!

I use this bike for fitness and to commute to work almost daily. I previously used a hybrid bike but I felt I hit a wall with how I could progress on it so I test-road quite a few bikes before I settled on this one. I am really happy with it and I have and I hope I will continue to improve my speed and endurance with this bike. I had hoped the seat would be more comfortable (it is not very comfortable for me even with biking chamois), but I think it might just be personal preference and riding style.

I bought my Trek Madone 3.1 bike on 6/6/14.. I love my bike and the customer service was great. I customized the bike with a hybrid setup. There is a piece of plastic protection on the frame by the chain which has some discoloration. I have only had this bike for a few weeks and it is kept covered. The powder blue has a green tint to it. ( the picture seems to be upside down.) I called the Flower Mound store this morning (can't remember who I talked to) and they thought it might have a thin piece of plastic that could be pealed off, leaving a harder "plate" underneath. That is not the case. I could not peal anything off, although I didn't try very hard because I don't want to damage the paint. Are you aware of this problem? Should I try to remove the plastic and will it damage the paint if I do?

My husband bought me this and it is my first road bike. So far I have been using it for fitness such as track cycling and also social road cycling. This bike is great. The only thing which isn't so great about this bike is the heavy wheels, the two Bontrager wheels weigh more than 1kg! Other than that, it's a great first bike and Trek and Bontrager offer quality products.

Like the fact that Trek has a lightweight rack for this carbon bike. Bike is easy on the back & hands. Bike absorbs vibrations.

Recently decided to upgrade my old aluminum mountain bike with my first carbon road bike. As I am a 6' 5" male, not too many manufactures have frames in my size. Luckily for me, Trek was one of them. On the advise of the salesman I tried out several bikes and decided on the Trek Madone 3.1. What a terrific purchase! The only thing that could have made me happier is a more comfortable seat. Other than that, the bike rides like a dream! It's fast, smooth and very aerodynamic. I recommend it highly!!

I ride to/from work and ride for fitness. I've completed several endurance rides with my old road bike and the difference with my 3.1 for endurance is out of this world. I love how smooth the gears shift. In the past I've purchased a new bike almost every year trying to find a "good" one. I will be keeping this one for many years. Love it

I have been road cycling for a year. I cycle with a Ladies Group. Started out on a 1992 Trek. It was great but too big and heavy for me decided to upgrade to the women's 3.1 Madone. It fits like a glove seat is so comfortable. I feel like I am riding a feather in the wind so fun.
