For years now, Trek's Madones have set the standard for road cycling excellence, winning everything from local group rides to the Tour de France. The 3 Series continues that hallowed lineage with a frameset that's crafted from Trek's light, stiff 300-Series OCLV carbon. An absolute dream to ride, the Madone comes spec'd with Trek's E2 tapered front end so you can slice through corners with pinpoint precision. And cornering or flying down straight roads, Trek's H2 geometry offers the ultimate blend of fine handling and top comfort with a slightly higher handlebar position. Plus, the Madone's choice components offer excellent ride quality, value and reliability, like the 20-speed Shimano drivetrain with SRAM compact crankset for easier climbing and the first-rate Bontrager controls and wheels. The Madone is versatile, too, with discreet rack and fender mounts that let you load up for commuting and off-season training rides!

Great Bike but it could use 1 or 2 smaller sprockets to help increase speed on some downhills. I found myself pedaling without any resistance a few times. I had to purchase a different rear sprocket set to resolve issue.

this is my first road bike and my first carbon frame. After 9 years out from cycling (off road) i got back on the saddle and rode 20 miles with ease. Then the next day i did 40 miles, averaging 15mph! This cycle is awesome and has really helped get me back out on the road. In the first month of ownership i have enjoyed every moment going out and spending time with my madone3.1, im so looking forward to getting involved with some national sportifs and charity rides. The frame geometry works really well for me, down on the bars or up on the horns, and even out of the saddle! Power transfer this frame has is unbelievable, coming from a full suspension off road bike you can probably understand how spongy my world has been thus far! One minor moan, is to do with the saddle! My padded shorts was a very worthy investment, the saddle isnt the best, and will be upgraded very soon. For the price im very pleased with the package. I added Look pedals to the arms with bont riot cycling shoes.

I participate in several of the yearly rides in NYC and surrounding areas. I don't ride competitively but I ride frequently. Sitting on that saddle for long periods of time tends to get uncomfortable rather quickly.

I am a novice and with this bike I was addicted to cycling in a short period doing thirty mile rides in my second week. A great bike, great ride, and great value for the novice. I can't believe how I got addicted to cycling in a short period - the bike made it possible.

Swapped out a few components after getting a professional fitting. Now its a great ride at a great price point for a carbon fiber frame.

After 20 years away from riding a road bike, I took the Madone 3.1 for a test ride. It completely blew my mind! After a year, I upgraded the bars, seat post, wheels, tires and seat. As a stock bike, this is a great value and will serve you well. With the upgrades, it rides like a bike twice it's value. Great bike.

I try to use it 3 times a week. Great bike, handles everything, very responsive carbon frame. I' 181cm tall so this geometry fits me better than those sloppy ones. The only thing I'v traded straight away is the saddle. enjoy your ride!

I bought this to help with hill climbing, whilst not looking for out & out speed, I just needed to be able to keep up with friends when on leisure rides, after struggling with an old bike for 4 years. On the recommendation of local bike shop I went carbon frame instead of aluminium & wow! I cannot believe how smooth the feel of this bike is when ridden.
