With the big-wheel mile crushing of an XC bike and the confidence of an agressive trail bike, Trek's Fuel EX 8 29 tackles whatever you have in mind. This 29er uses an aluminum frame with G2 geometry to deliver 120mm of front/rear travel, controlled by Fox's CTD technology and enhanced with Trek's DRCV tech out back. Stiffness means precise handling, so you're equipped with an E2 head tube and a 142x12 rear through axle, as well as Trek's ABP and Full Floater suspension to keep your rear suspension active and controlled even when you're braking. Dressing the frame is a tubeless-ready wheelset, sure-stopping SLX discs and an SLX/XT drivetrain for crisp, quick shifts every time. Welcome to the new platinum standard.

I love this bike! I did a lot of research before purchasing this bike and for the price, this is the best Fuel EX for the money. Great components and the 29" wheels brings confidence. Highly recommended!..... I just wish it was a 1x or 2x10.

This bike has changed every trail I have ridden on. My speed and agility has now been elevated by the construction of this bike. I have less difficulty going over obstacles with the 29 in. tire. I can now accelerate further on the trail due to having a confident and efficient braking setup. I can also ride further with the additional gear ratios in the cassette. Improvements have been made in every facet of my riding with my new trek.

This is a great trail bike with outstanding rear suspension. When pushed hard on rough, rocky trails, it holds a tight line very well and stays very composed. The steering geometry hits an ideal balance between stability and agility. It's also comfortable and climbs well; a great bike for long days of single track. It's my first dual suspension, and I couldn't be happier!

I am a weekend trail rider who takes my riding seriously and I do about 3 competitive events a year. I spend my weekdays commuting on a 26er hard tail and then swap to this 29er with no issues. For me, this bike is perfect. It is extremely smooth over bumps yet feels like an XC bike for control. Plenty of front travel plus, the rear CTD floater suspension thingy gives you a lot of confidence. Just leave it in trail 99% of the time. I can't emphasize enough how fast this bike is. It just chews up bumpy fire trails, hill climbs and and tight windy single track. It encourages you to go faster. Good thing that the SLX disc brakes are very powerful and have good modulation. The drivetrain components are perfect. All SLX except for the rear derailleur which is XT. Everything shifts so smoothly. The M552 cranks are Generic Shimano branded but are really Deore spec underneath. Unless you really desire that extra 500grams of weight saving I don't really see the point of spending more for Full XT componentry which is made of softer metal and wears out faster anyway. The only drawback is the rear chainstay which seems unnecessarily long by about 1.75cm. this makes lifting the front wheel that little bit harder, however this seems to be the case with a lot of 29ers.

Love this bike! I ride mainly single track off road and also bought second set of wheels with hybrid tires I use on the street. Great travel and balance on the suspension. Brakes are spot on.

I search for smooth and flowing trails. This bike was built for those trails. Coming from a 26" hardtail, this bike is everything I wanted. Once you get used to the overall platform, this bike goes. Fast, comfortable, responsive, and efficient. I am still getting used to it in slow speed technical sections, but I am sure I will get it down with time. Wish it had a 2x10, but that is an easy fix. Great overall bike, full of good technology and smart spec.

Bought this after looking at load of other full suspension 29ers, and absolutely love it, so glad I picked it over the others, but it is fair to say the bikes ability far exceeds mine!! The bike shop I used was excellent, great advice when buying.

I don't really know much about tech specs, but I can offer this advice: aside from a sexy bikini clad brazillian, this bike is the best thing you will ever put between your legs. Rides like a dream. Great for Smashing out a single track or rocky track. I intend to take back all my Strava records with this bad boy.

Love this bike. Just did the Scott 24 hour and the bike was flawless(unlike the rider). The rear lockout is great for the climb and the descent is surprisingly plush on even some proper Downhill parts. Great value.
