Remember way back in the day when we called fat bikes "snow" bikes? Trek's Farley 8 has hit the mainstream and we could not be happier. There's nothing like ripping a fat bike over singletrack, regardless of the season. Roots, rocks, sand: they all disappear under you thanks to 3.8-inch tires and the 100mm-travel Bluto fork. And, yeah, the Farley is great in the white stuff, too. Trek's light aluminum frame is quick and nimble, and the tubeless-ready Jackalope wheels shed 4 pounds over other fat wheels, so you whip this thing around like it's nothing. The 1x11 SRAM drivetrain keeps it clean and gives you plenty of gears for serious adventure in literally any weather and Avid's disc brakes keep you always in total control. Now go get lost.

The Farley 8 is just as much fun as my mountain bike, and then some. Sure footed and planted. This bike is light and nimble. Great product, and I'm impressed with the ride. The Sram gearing is perfect.

Awesome ride, and I am concidering this because it is a 1x11 gear train. 2 things - not sure if a 4.8 tire can fit, and Trek design a 1x11 system but built a 2x10 frame??? There is a hole in the top tube for a cable that is not there? The is a welded on post were the front derailer goes that that is not there. Why would you sell a 1 x 11 on a 2 x 10 frame. Bike is awesome, but I cannot stand this about Trek products, and they do this on other models also. If you think someone is going to build a 2x10 for this after riding the 1x11 - I don't think so. This bike could ride up the side of a building with no problems. Agil and responsive, not sluggish in any manner. If you are thinking 1x11 I think this is a great choise. I am.
