Fast and comfortable, you get the best of both worlds with Trek's 7.5 FX WSD! Its hydroformed aluminum frame provides an efficient, comfortable ride, while the Bontrager carbon fork is super light and mutes road vibration for velvety smoothness. The wonderful ride continues with Bontrager's light wheels and flat-resistant Hardcase tires, which are equally at home on roads, paths, and trails. Plus, the 20-speed, wide-ranging drivetrain with compact cranks gives you the right gears for any hill at any pace, and the linear-pull brakes offer complete control everywhere.

I had a heavy big box store bike. Going up hills was hard. My new Trek bike makes going up hills a breeze. I'm amazed at how easy this bike is to ride.

My 7300s were both 10+ years old and though they had served me well, I wanted something faster, lighter, and with up-to-date technology. The 7.5 is it, and I'm really enjoying this bike. It's helped me be a better rider despite the fact that I am also 10+ years older! I like this bike enough to have also replaced my bike at my vacation home, even though I don't ride it nearly as much. After riding the 7.5, there was no going back to a 7300! The only things that I find problematic have to do with the fact that I am short waisted (but not so short overall that a smaller frame was an option, according the the sales person): the handlebars are not adjustable, so it's quite a reach for me and on a long ride, hard on my back. I also have small hands, and the left shifter is much stiffer and harder to reach and operate than the right one, enough so that it can be a painful distraction. The seat that came with the bike, something I expected to be a feature and not a bug, turned out not to work for me, and the replacement is only marginally better. I'm a recreational and fitness rider and do 65-70 miles most weeks. I'm lucky enough to live in a place where I can ride year round, and most days I go out by the San Francisco Bay. The 7.5 is a vast improvement in the headwinds and a great way to see the ever-changing scenery. The 7300 is now in a bike trainer for use on rainy days.

poor paint quality. I am a roadie at heart and I purchased the 2012 Trek 7.5 FX WSD to commute to work. I absolutely love the ride but the paint scratches off at the drop of a hat. I am not hard on my bikes. I have a Trek Pilot 2.1 with nary a scratch on it. I am considering buying a TT bike next year...but might look elsewhere.

I went in to upgrade from my FX 7.2 and had planned on purchasing an FX 7.3. The owner had misunderstood me on the phone and had not actually ordered the FX 7.3 but said he'd make it up to me. He allowed me to take home a slightly used 2010 FX 7.5 to try out and said if I liked it he'd order me a new one at the price of the 7.3. Took it home fell in love with it and said I wished the new model came in something besides white. He offered to sell me the 2010 FX 7.5 I was demoing at an incredible price and I purchased it. I love this bike! It's a dream to ride, incredibly fast and responsive. It feels like an extension of your body rather than a piece of equipment you're working out on. If I could not have purchased the 2010, which is black, thank you, I still would have purchased the current model in white just to have this bike. The difference in the feel, performance of the bike, quality of the upgraded components is well worth the extra money - night and day from the 7.2 and I'm sure from the 7.3.

I have the 2009 7.5FX WSD and I LOVE it! It's my first "real" bike and I couldn't be happier. I had been riding my old mountain bike to see if I would keep up biking before taking the plunge with a hybrid or road bike. Once I had ridden consistently for a few months, I was ready, and my husband treated me to a new bike for our anniversary. I did my research, tested several models from various companies, and ultimately decided that the 7.5FX WSD was for me. The 7.5FX was a great investment. After riding a low-quality, old mountain bike, the difference in the FX is immeasurable. I'm officially hooked. I ride 3-4 times a week, 20-40 miles per ride. The 7.5FX is a zippy little ride. The gears shift smoothly. The frame is light for a hybrid. (The carbon fork is nice!) It's sleek and has great graphics. Although it's designed for a woman, unlike other companies' WSD models, it's understated and not overly girly. And, while it's not the cheapest bike out there, I think it's a great "bang for your buck" bike. My only complaint is that the seat could be more comfortable. Bontragers have a reputation of being less than ideal, and for me, that has been accurate. I'm good for about 20 miles and anything after that is a bit uncomfortable. Don't pass up this bike just because of the saddle; it's easy enough to buy a new one. If you are planning on buying a hybrid bike, definitely take a look at the 7.5FX.

I am 65. An older athlete, and I was trying to find a new way to exercise that doesn't hurt. I'm not a bike rider, but after watching the Tour de France on TV, I was so "blown away", that I thought maybe I should give bike riding a try. So,I rode around on my old clunker mtn. bike, (probably about 10,15 years old), it worked fine, but I thought maybe there was something to the newer technology. I was so right, there's no comparison. I was thinking about spending around $500.00, and getting a really great new bike. But, after trying out a few different bikes, I couldn't believe the difference. It's totally worth the money to get a new bike. Each bike I tried I realized I was going to just pay the price to get me to a nice bike. I bought the 7.5 FX, and on this bike I feel like I'm driving a race car. It's quiet, responsive, amazingly easy, and beautiful. The only thing that's not great about this bike is that it's still a "work out" to go up hills. (Unfortunately, that's the point.) I love this bike, I love riding in the early morning when it's so quiet and cool, and I love the pain in my thighs because I know pretty soon it will get better. I can't wait to go riding. Everyone just starting to ride should buy this bike, and some bike shorts.

I'm so impressed with this bike... I had a old bike that probably cost 200 bucks 10 years ago that left me huffing and puffing on the slightest incline. We nicknamed it 1-1 because i was consistently in first gear to get over small hills. I got on this bike and refused to get off! It's so light, maneuvers so well, and has great handle bars with extra width for better more comfortable grip. I'm getting used to the seat, it's hard, but not uncomfortable. I think bike shorts would help. I highly recommend this to someone looking to take their casual ride to the next level.

I am a 56 year old grandma who started doing sprint triathlons last year. This bike makes me feel like I can take anything on. It is very smooth and non-fatiguing.... I love it
