Trek's 3500 is a legit mountain bike ready for every adventure, in the city and the woods. Trek's aluminum frame is light for nimble handling, easy acceleration, and quick climbing. It's also built tough so it's fully capable of handing real XC trail riding. The 3500's 75mm-travel suspension fork dispatches bumps, rocks, and roots with ease, grace, and confidence. This ripper delivers in the specs department too, with quick-shifting 21-speed Shimano gearing that makes easy work of the hills, and a set of Bontrager wheels with fat, knobby tires.

All the complains of trek bikes are the Seat-my trek is a 3500-2012- grease was dry inside the shocks- I got this bike in 2015-was fix for $15 the seat is very comfortable, the bike handles well, I have no complains about it-I have a trek x caliber -which cost $200 more than the 3500-very poor seat-uncomfortable.

I have had this bike for over a month now. I ride along trails near my house, and just around my neighborhood. I recently went down to Moab (Utah) and did slip rock (practice loop) and it handled really well. On a smooth trail, it is really easy to get going on this thing, and i love it.

I have this bike-and it is a 2012 also-when I got this bike the shocks were so hard-they were not compressing -I guess because the bike was made in 2012 something happened to the grease inside the shocks that the shocks were not responding- I took it back to the shop- they fix the problem for $ 15.00(they out grease inside again) good luck $$$

WARNING: This bike is not a true mountain bike. If you are looking for a starter mountain bike, put the extra money in to get disc breaks, a better fork, and components that will not break in the middle of the trail. This may be sold to you as a true mountain bike. However, there is a warning sticker on the bike which has written "warning. use only for leisure cross country" My suspension doesn't work, and can't be fixed. My rear derailleur snapped. I've had to replace the brakes several times (Really. you need disc breaks) The bike rattles like a snake's tail on the downhills, and weighs probably around 33 pounds (which is a lot, even in it's price point). Simply put, If you plan on using this bike, don't buy it. Over the course of owning this bike, I have ridden a TON, and am finally about to upgrade to something that I can race on, something that just doesn't suck. I have ridden it hard, as it can be ridden hard. You just have to be prepared to deal with the consequences of doing this.

I bought this bike a couple months ago and have enjoyed it very much. The only thing I have a problem with are the tires.

I have just recently turned over 200 miles on this bike. Only have had to replace front inner tube twice. Stock tires are not so great, very thin and poor tread life. Seat is comfy. Gearing from mega range to next gear seems like a big jump for a beginner rider when climbing.
