I bought this bike at the end of summer after I worked all summer to afford it. I got it about 3 weeks before I went back to school but I rode well over 700 miles and without any problems accept for the stock pedals but I replaced them with some spd-sl pedals and it rode like a dream. Overall great bike for a beginner road bike. BTW I'm only 15.

I bought this last week of July and after 2 commute rides rode a 32 mile charity ride in Cummings Ga. I since have put over 381 miles on it with no problems. The only draw back is I wish the brake/gear handles were a tad bit longer and could be angled back some, otherwise this bike is hands down over my old hybrid (over 7,000 miles) and I don't miss the extra gears, it shifts very smoothly and climbs hills like a dream, during the charity ride there was one hill I rode up and passed about 8 young people pushing their bikes up it (I am 60 years old). I got this bike on sale it was approximately $400 off the regular price and would have been worth every penny of the regular price

I ride mostly to stay in shape, anywhere from 3-5 times a week 20-40 miles per outing. This bike is awesome. Everything was silky smooth and I felt very comfortable on the bike even after riding a hybrid for 2 years. I really enjoyed climbing on this bike. The compact crank is awesome, I love the tighter gear ratios. Next I need to invest in some clipless pedals and shoes but the stock pedals work just fine for now. This is my first road bike and knowing Trek's reputation I will probably be riding this gem for the next 20 years!
