You can put almost any sized tire on this bike. You can add any racks you possibly want and many water bottles. I bought mine from cal coast and it was set up perfectly, plus they give you a free tune up and the staff is more than helpful. I've put at least a hundred miles on my surly, some on the road, some off and it still rides like new. Very comfortable confident ride, a little heavy but then it is steel and once it gets rolling it really goes!

The LHT is great for my uses: commuting 8 miles round trip, running errands, and working out on the weekends. Occasionally I'll go longer distances with someone else. Its steel frame provides a solid experience, but I don't consider it heavy either. I wanted a bike that will last forever, and I expect this one to. I love all the places to add racks, fenders, pumps, etc. Nicely done, Surly.
