Etiquette begins with Contribution

Part of practicing good Fat Bike Etiquette is paying your fair share.  Each State and local region has different protocols in place for rider donations so take the time to learn how you can contribute to your riding area.

Idaho:

In Idaho we encourage you to make a donation to your local Parks and Rec Grooming District and your local Nordic grooming program.  

Here in Teton County, District 33 based in Madison County, manages the grooming in the Big Holes.  All the local bike shops have the ability to collect donations to this program.  All Fat Bikers are asked to contribute to the District 33 Grooming program. Snowmobile registrations are $32.50 but the Grooming District feels Fat Bikers should contribute $50 because of the lack of additional gas tax revenue.  However, any donation amount is welcome.

All net proceeds will be remitted directly to the Madison County Grooming Program.

Please place sticker on front, left fork of Fat Bike (Bicycle with at least 3.7" wide tires).

If you find yourself riding on the fantastic Nordic grooming provided by Teton Valley Trails and Pathways, please click here to donate to that program.

Wyoming:

In Wyoming, fat bike riders are encouraged to purchase an out of state snowmobile registration sticker to contribute to the state wide grooming programs.

After you have financially supported your local groomers.  Please familiarize yourself with all the fat bike etiquette guidelines currently being used across the Country.
