Description
Yakima's RidgeBack 2 securely transports two bikes with Yakima's cradles and their simple-to-adjust, ratcheting ZipStrips. Constructed of lightweight aluminum, this innovative hitch rack comes fully assembled out of the box for ease of use. Just plug it into the hitch, tighten and lock the SpeedKnob, and you're ready to load up the bikes! In addition to carrying traditional double-diamond frames with zero bike-to-bike contact, the anti-sway cradles are specially shaped to be compatible with non-standard and full-suspension frames. Plus, the Upperhand control lever allows the rack to fold down, away from back of your vehicle, for unimpeded trunk/hatch access, or when not in use, lets the RidgeBack fold flat for storage.

The 2 bike carrier sits just far enough out from the receiver that I can open the barn-style rear door of my Roadtrek built on the Chevy Express frame(without bikes mounted)with the rack still in the upright position. Also just clears the left side rear-mounted spare tire carrier. With bikes mounted the bike rack still allows the rear door to open when in the tilted forward position.
When towing camper trailer the rack is moved to the rear (reinforced) bumper of our camper quickly and easily.
Very happy with the fit,finish and engineering of this solid,good-looking product.Worth the extra $

very easy to install. the lock is included so I don't have to take it off of my car. Can be lowered to allow access to hatchback of car. perfect!
