Gary Fisher and Trek have been doing 29ers quite awhile, so they know and a thing or two about making a great 29er hardtail. The X-Caliber 7 uses a sleek, light Gold Series aluminum frame features ride-enhancing G2 29er geometry for superior cornering, climbing and descending. Adding to those attributes is a set of steamrolling 29-inch wheels and a 100mm-travel fork that smooths the trail and steers you through the roughest terrain. Plus, component highlights include a slick-shifting Shimano 27-speed drivetrain, a host of reliable Bontrager parts and Shimano disc brakes that give you awesome stopping power in any and all conditions.

| Trek's G2 Geometry (version 2 of Gary Fisher's Genesis Geometry) delivers the ultimate ride for every trail. Genesis earned rave reviews for awesome handling on climbs and descents thanks to a long top tube paired with a short stem that moves the front wheel forward for top-notch confidence and control, while short chainstays add phenomenal traction. G2 Geometry takes these handling traits to the next level by boosting control on tight singletrack and technical climbs, too. This is accomplished by increasing the amount of fork offset (reducing trail), which makes G2 bikes steer more quickly, and by shortening the reach, which puts more weight on the front wheel for even better control and confidence.
