Description
If you were an XC race bike, what would you be? You'd be made from Trek's OCLV carbon with a dialed G2 geometry, have a stiff, tapered head tube for precision steering and a huge BB95 for the ultimate in power transfer. You'd shred climbs, rule descents and drop your competitors left and right. You'd have a custom SID XX with a carbon crown for plush travel and a feathery weight. Your wheels would be Bontrager's crazy-light, tubeless-ready Race X Lites. The drivetrain would have to be SRAM's XX 2x10 setup with carbon cranks. And, for additional gram shaving, your bars and post would be Bontrager's RXL carbon, and your seat would even have titanium rails. And to bring you back to earthly speeds, you'd have SRAM XX brakes. You'd be unstoppable, uncatchable, and of course, you'd be a Superfly Pro SL.

Trek's E2 head tube is 1 1/2 inches in diameter at the bottom and 1 1/8 inches at the top. This maximizes front-end stiffness for awesome steering precision and control, while allowing the use of standard 1 1/8-inch stems and not adding much weight.

Trek's Superfly features a unique bottom bracket that's 95mm wide (traditional ones are 68mm wide). This wide bottom bracket lets Trek build the frame with larger tubes for increased power transfer. Plus, the 95mm bottom bracket is machined so that the bearings can be placed directly into the frame saving weight due to fewer parts, ensuring additional pedaling efficiency as well as simplifying maintenance and repair.
