The FS 9.9 SL uses a race-light, yet trail tough OCLV carbon frame with a 100mm of travel along with Trek's proven technologies: G2 geometry, carbon armor, internal cable routing, E2 head tube, carbon link, and ABP suspension. That all translates to bike that weighs less than most hardtails, climbs like a banshee, and slices singletrack like a surgeon. Nothing was spared to make you faster; you've got a RockShox RS-1 fork and Monarch XX shock, full 11-speed XX1 gearing, Avid XX brakes, and tubeless-ready, thru-axle DT Swiss wheels. A carbon bar, post, stem, and even carbon rails on your saddle make up the controls. The Superfly FS 9.9 SL XX1 is speed personified.

E2 Head Tube
Trek's E2 head tube is 1 1/2 inches in diameter at the bottom and 1 1/8 inches at the top. This maximizes front-end stiffness for awesome steering precision and control, while allowing the use of standard 1 1/8-inch stems and not adding much weight.
