Great Bike for Anyone who enjoys riding for recreation

Pros:
Lightweight, Easy riding, Durable, Versatile, Very comfortable
Cons:
Best Uses:
Road Biking, Trail riding, Commuting/City
I have been riding a Trek Single Track for the last 23 years. I am now 68 years old and I still like to ride, but I needed a more comfortable riding position (more upright), so I did some research and found the Trek Shift 3. I went to my local Trek dealer and I tried the bike and really liked it. I ride about an hour to an hour and half a day and this bike is perfect for that. It is nice to have a front shock and a shock under the saddle. The 24 speed shifters provide plenty of range in the gears to handle any kind of slope you will encounter. The frame is stiff, and delivers plenty of power directly to the wheels. Overall this is a great bike.

Cons:

First new bike in over 10 years. Bought a comfort bike since I am 5' 10" and 250 pounds. Awesome bike! Super comfortable and nice, upright riding position. No neck or back discomfort whatsoever. Suspension and seat post shocks smooth out the bumps along with the 26 inch tires. No complaints at all. Very happy with purchase. Easy and enjoyable to ride. Can't go wrong with this one.

First New Bike in 20 Years. WOW!!

Pros:
Versatile, Durable
Cons:
Best Uses:
Road Biking
My wife and I both bought new bikes for Christmas. Our old bikes were good in their day but the Trek is absolutely an amazing bike. We can't get over the ease of pedalling and the click shift is smooth. We love our new bikes and as casual riders, ride approximately 10 miles a day. The Trek is a wonderful bike.

Awesome Bike!!!

Pros:
Easy to ride, Dependable, Great quality, Good Value, Comfortable
Cons:
Need more color options
Best Uses:
I bought a His and Hers for my wife and I. I'm now 60 and wife is 53. We've owned several Treks and have always been impressed with the quality. The Shift lineup is a great all around bike for those of us that are not into marathon rides. We can ride a few miles, enjoy ourselves, and get the exercise we need. These bikes are very stable and very easy to ride. We look forward to many years of use and enjoyment from these. Great job Trek.

superb quality

Pros:
Style, Versatile, Durable
Cons:
Best Uses:
Commuting/City
I had a trek navigator 2.0. This bike is a big step up. The speed shifters are much better than pistol shifters. Better wheels and tires. I haven't filled up in a month of service. The navigator required weekly. Lock out fork is a must for the road. The grip significantly reduce hand pain. Get the 3.0 over the 2.0. The shift 2.0 in very similar to the navigator 2.0. This bike is way more comfy than my trek 1.1 road bike but about .5 kph slower

I really like this bike

Pros:
Lightweight, Versatile, Durable
Cons:
Best Uses:
Road Biking
I currently live in 2 States. Florida and New Jersey. In 2010 I purchased a Navigator 2 in FL and have literately worn the tires and chain off of that bike. Loving it so much, when I returned to NJ, my wife bought me a Shift 3 for my birthday. I wanted a new motorcycle, but she gifted me with a bike with no motor instead. She said that this one is healthier for me. I've had to add a riser pipe to the handlebar to accommodate my young 65 year-body. Did I tell you that I'm loving my Shift 3 bike? I guess a new motorcycle will have to wait!

Great Bike

Pros:
Click Shift, Durable, 24 Speed, Versatile, Cool color, Ergo Grips, Lightweight
Cons:
None
Best Uses:
Commuting/City, Mountain Biking, Road Biking, Rail trail
After over 20 years with a Trek 830 Antelope this was a nice change. While the 830 held up fantastic, I needed a more upright riding position. My wife has a Navigator 2 and I just picked up a Shift 3 about a month ago. We ride about 500 miles per year on rail trails and country roads in our area. Love to take them camping as well. I have 35 miles on right now due to cool windy temps when I got the bike. So far it is GREAT! Highly recommend this bike.

Plan to use for commuting to the store, kids soccer games, trail riding(gravel and asphalt). I just want to enjoy the ride, look around and where my bottom and wrists don't ache after an hour of pedaling. I put on 25 miles the first day of use and it was very enjoyable.

Perfect bike for getting back into it.

Pros:
Durable, Fun To Ride, Versatile, Lightweight, Great Handling, Shifts great
Cons:
Best Uses:
Road Biking, Commuting/City, Mountain Biking
I love this bike. I am trying to lose some weight and get myself back into shape. The price on this bike was the most I have ever spent on a Bike but I feel that it is worth the price I paid. I use it on our local bike trail and it preformes well on the dirt and street alike. It rides well and handles well. The finger/thumb shifters are a joy to use. I love it.

TREK SHIFT 3

Pros:
Just A Fantastic Bike, Durable, Lightweight, Versatile
Cons:
Best Uses:
Commuting/City, Road Biking
I'M A BIG GUY WHO NEEDED SOMETHING WELL BUILT TO CONTINUE MY WEIGHT LOSS AND COULDN'T HAVE FOUND A BETTER AVENUE FOR THAT IN MY TREK SHIFT 3. IT RIDES EXCELLENT, HANDLES GREATS AND HAVE HAD MANY COMPLIMENTS ON IT'S LOOKS AND BUILD. WEST MICH. BIKE HAS BEEN EXCELLENT ON SERVICE, TOO. I REALLY ENJOY RIDING IT AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS AND WHEN WE ARE CAMPING. SURFACED, GRAVEL, OR DIRT ROADS ARE NO PROBLEM. HAVEN'T TRIED IT AS A TRAIL OR MOUNTAIN BIKE AS THAT'S NOT MY INTEREST. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY.

Excellent Bike

Pros:
Comfortable ride, upright position, Kick stand, Easy to Shift, Smooth
Cons:
none
Best Uses:
City Neighborhood Trail
I had two hybrids, neither of which I felt totally comfortable with. The Shift 3 is a dream. I can ride anywhere in comfort, even for 10+ miles. The fat tires make it versatile on different types of pavements.
