Cons:
Best Uses:

I bought this bike on Saturday for my 6 1/2 year old daughter who had outgrown her 12" bike. She saw this bike on display at the bike store and fell in love with it. She rode the bike all weekend and first thing after she got up Sunday morning she asked "Can I go outside and ride my bike?".

great bike for my 5-6yr old!

Pros:
Built to Last, Smooth Ride, Highly Adjustable, Stable
Cons:
Heavy, Quickly Outgrown
Best Uses:
Street Riding, First Learning
My daughter has had this bike for a year, she is now six, and we had no issues...until she grew a bit. Now the seat is waaay too small, and I cant seem to find any parts for this bike on this site. We bought this bike because it is easily adjustable and will last a long time, which seems true, except for the tiny tiny seat!

Unsafe Handle Bar Design

Pros:
Cons:
Unstable
Best Uses:
I bought this bike for my 7 year old daughter. The tightening mechanism for the handle bars is way too small for the bike. This results in the handle bar becoming lose while riding resulting is very serious crashes. Trek covers this sort coming so it is not visible at the time of purchase.

Mystic 20 - Girls Bike

Pros:
Smooth Ride, Stable, Highly Adjustable, Perfect Fit, Easy to Grow Into, Built to Last
Cons:
Best Uses:
Big Kids, Street Riding
We looked at every make and model but the Trek Mystic 20 was the ONLY bike that fit my almost 7 year old daughter; she had outgrown her 16 inch bike. This is the fourth Trek that I've purchased for my family in the last 2.5 years. I could not be more pleased with my daughter's Mystic 20. Great bike and I highly recommend it.

Great bike, but too darn heavy

Pros:
Stable, Smooth Ride
Cons:
Heavy
Best Uses:
First Learning
Certainly a quality bike, but for a 20" bike it is far to heavy, making storage on a hook in the garage impossible for my wife or daughter. I am sure this model can be built just as sturdy at a lighter weight and for a similar cost. How about an aluminum option or thinner wall chromoly?

Great choice for a first bike.

Pros:
Easy to Grow Into, Smooth Ride, Built to Last, Highly Adjustable, Stable
Cons:
Best Uses:
Light Trails, First Learning, Street Riding
We purchased this bike for our 4 year old. It was her first bike with training wheels. My daughter rode it straight away with confidence. She also improved on her speed and handling of the bike very quickly. My daughter is a small 4 year old however the bike is highly adjustable and she fitted on it well. She has also been riding her bike on our dirt road, on grass and at the park. This is a wonderful bike and I can't fault it. It's a great way to keep the kids fit and active. I will be buying another Trek bike for my son when he is old enough because I have been so impressed with it.

Light and stable

Pros:
Smooth Ride, Stable, Built to Last, Highly Adjustable, Easy to Grow Into
Cons:
Best Uses:
First Learning
My daughter loves riding this bike around the neighborhood, on vacation, camping, anywhere. It's light and easy to ride on grass, dirt, gravel or cement - even for a kid who just learned how to ride. She got it for her 7th birthday and has plenty of room to grow.

Great Bike for my 6 year old daughter

Pros:
Highly Adjustable, Smooth Ride, Built to Last, Easy to Grow Into
Cons:
Best Uses:
First Learning, Street Riding
I bought this for my 6 year old daughter without the training wheels. Because the bike is lighter, approximately 25 pounds, she was able to learn to ride in about an hour. The cheaper, heavier bikes made it difficult for her to learn. She weighs 42 pounds and it was too hard for her to pedal a 35 pound bike. I'm so pleased. I got her the blue one and it's a beautiful, wonderful bike that she enjoys riding.

The coolest ride on the block

Pros:
Looks great, Built to Last, Stable, Highly Adjustable
Cons:
Lack of gears
Best Uses:
Bike Path, Street Riding
Bought this from LBS after our then five year old showed she could take care of a bike. She commented that it is more comfortable and smoother. She controlls it better too, but that's probably just experiance. I just sort of wish that there was a factory installed three speed option, there are plenty of hills here, and now she's ready for it.

Better fit for my little girl

Pros:
Highly Adjustable, Easy to Grow Into, Stable, Built to Last, Smooth Ride
Cons:
Best Uses:
Light Trails, Street Riding
My six-year-old has started going on serious rides with me (10mi+). She complains about her hand-me-down Raleigh. And when I thought about it, I realized that the Raleigh weighs almost as much as she does. I tried to imagine what it would be like to ride a bike that weighs 75% of what I do. I went out looking for the lightest weight girls 20" bike I could find, and this is it. You're looking at it. She's so much happier with this bike. She's faster. She climbs hills better. It's like night and day.

A bit pricey for a kid but very nice.

Pros:
Easy to Grow Into, Built to Last, Highly Adjustable, Smooth Ride, Stable
Cons:
Best Uses:
Street Riding
We bought this for our 6 year old daughter. A 20" bike would normally be too big for her but the seat on this bike goes down a bit further and permits her to ride it which means that she will be able to use it longer! I got tired of monkeying with the 70.00 Barbie bike that we got for her and decided to get something nice that I would be able to trade in or sell even when she's done with it. As one reviewer stated, an adjustable seat post would be nice and really should be standard on ALL Trek bikes.

Dreamy looks and ride

Pros:
Smooth Ride, Stable, Built to Last, Easy to Grow Into, Art like paint details
Cons:
No quick release seatpost
Best Uses:
Purchased for daughter who was able to maneuver this bike and literally turn on dime the first time she rode it...as if the bike was custom made for her. Albeit she is only 6, she easily pedaled up the hill in front of our house on her way to show this beautiful bike to her friends. Regarding the con, I had to think hard to come up with this...otherwise my bike tool works just fine. Could use a matching bell as the icing on the cake for a little girl.
