Description
Out on the trail all day? Hitting up an enduro? Maybe ripping some XC action? Trek's Fuel EX 9 27.5 is ready to light your fire. Its aluminum frame dials up 120mm of travel blessed by the awesomeness of Fox CTD suspension front and rear. You're also equipped with an E2 head tube and a 142x12mm thru-axle in the back for better stiffness and razor-sharp handling. Climbs are conquered and descents are maximized by SRAM's X1 11-speed gearing and Bonty tubeless-ready 27.5-inch wheels, and keeping your speed in check are Shimano's venerable XT discs. No trail bike should be without a dropper post in our opinion, so you've got an internally routed Reverb for keeping the flow, plus a whole setup of legit Bontrager parts. All this combines to make you just a little smoother, a little faster on every ride. Don't worry, we won't tell.

Alpha Platinum Aluminum
Trek’s premium lightweight aluminum is continuously cold extruded and butted at multiple points for ultimate weight reduction and superior strength. Frames built with Trek’s Alpha Platinum aluminum are hydroformed to create the most sophisticated shapes for the lightest weight, and are finished using their smooth-weld process.
Stealth Cable Routing
For a clean dropper post setup, Trek uses RockShox’s Reverb Stealth dropper seatpost and internal frame routing. The housing runs inside the frame for a clean look and zero hose issues as the saddle moves up and down.
Trek’s Full Floater Shock Mount
Trek's Full Floater shock mount boasts two suspended points that allow the shock to "float" through its range of action for seemingly bottomless travel and excellent tracking over every type of terrain.
EVO Rocker Link
Trek's EVO rocker link is a one-piece, magnesium linkage that drastically increases rear-end stiffness and decreases total frame weight, too.
E2 Head Tube
Trek's E2 head tube is 1.5-inches in diameter at the bottom and 1 1/8-inches at the top. This maximizes front-end stiffness for awesome steering precision and control, while allowing the use of standard 1 1/8-inch stems and not adding much weight.

I purchased this bike a little over a month ago from the Albuquerque Trek Superstore. It is flipping awesome. Got 2nd place in my first enduro ever on it. The new Re:activ shock is awesome and makes climbing much more enjoyable than it used to be with my old Cannondale hardtail. The front shock is a bit stiff for small bumps, but it seems to soak up anything significant without a problem. The dropper post is a huge bonus. After a month of riding, I am very happy with my choice.
