Saris' Locking Hitch Tite adds both stability and security to your hitch rack. It tightens up the interface between your rack and hitch to combat swaying and it locks your rack to your vehicle. It fits 1-1/4 and 2-inch threaded hitch-tites and is compatible with the 200/500 Series T-Rax, all Thelma racks, standard-model Cycle-Ons, and all the T-Bones racks (each sold separately).

As far as security, it meets all our needs. We like to leave our bikes on the rack at restaurants and at night with extra security chains. This fits the needs for us.

Simple. Safe, Discreet
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
This product is simple to use. The Saris rack and lock are lightweight enough for me (a 55 yr old woman of average strength), but heavy and sturdy enough for the job. The installation is quick and easy with my 1-1/4" hitch. I am a very pleased with my purchase!
I will be traveling long distances and want my bikes and rack to be attached when I arrive. The lock is well designed and offers peace of mind.
The lock is discreetly placed under the lip of the bumper. There is an attached guard to protect the keyhole from road debris. Nice design. Great price, great product! THANK YOU SARIS.

Simple and effective
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
The locking hitch mechanism is simple to install by removing the cotter pin, pulling out the original hitch pin, and inserting the locking pin. The black rubber cap is a nice feature since it keeps out rainwater, grime, and road sludge so the key works well. I do have a couple of misgivings about the device. 1. Does the key to my hitch tite fit other people's hitch tite, or conversely, can someone else unlock my mechanism with their key, or are the keys unique? 2. There is a bolt at the bottom of the bike rack, fitted with a nylon nut and hex key bolt. I removed it and put it back when I wanted to use the rack, instead of crawling under the vehicle to unlock the hitch pin. That bolt should be made secure, or lockable like the hitch pin in my opinion. If someone wants to steal your bike they will cut the three straps and whatever bike lock you have anyway, so there is no foolproof way to stop a thief. This device definitely deters most kleptomaniacs though. The small key is easily concealed in the cup holder or console so you don't have to carry it all the time. I recommend this lock for security if you need to leave your bike rack on a vehicle.

Great lock

If you have a Saris bike rack that's hitch mounted, this is the only option you have when it comes to locks. We tried to buy a lock at our bike store, but the way the hitch pin is designed, the lock needs to be threaded. So we just bought this lock online from Saris. Great lock though, easy to install.

Purchased this to secure my hitch rack for safe keeping....
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
Purchased this to secure my hitch rack for safe keeping. While the bolt holds rack exceptionally tight on receiver, the bolt is extremely long especially on an 11/4 receiver that a good portion of bolt is visible potentially giving someone access to cut bolt given the right tool. I'm sure with 2 inch receiver this wouldn't be a problem. Maybe should think about making different length bolts for different receivers. Lock itself seems adequate and has cover over keyhole.

Great Add-On to aftermarket Bike Rack
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I bought this lock at my LBS to secure a BELL Right Up 300 3 bike hitch platform rack. The original bolt that came with the rack was also threaded and held in place from backing out with only a cotter pin. This lock and bolt matched the threads EXACTLY as the supplied hitch bolt from BELL. Will not have to remove the bike rack now every time we go for a bike ride with the family!

Locking Hitch Tite
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
The price is excessive. As soon as I purchased to I came across multiple locking hitches at various auto parts stores like Auto Zone for example has them from $12 to $22. You got me this time. Next time Ill be sure to look around locally first. Otherwise the product is Okay! Not overly secure for the money I just spent but it sure looks good

Wasn't quite sure this would work with my Saris bake rack I bought 10 years ago, but it works like a charm. I am glad Saris' products are universal and that the parts do not become obsolete.
