The Saris Freedom SuperClamp's innovative front and rear wheel hooks completely eliminate frame contact while providing the most secure hold of any tray-style rack on the market. At only 30 lbs, the SuperClamp 2 is half the weight of similar style racks on the market. And with its integrated lock and arms that ratchet into place to simplify loading and unloading, the Saris Freedom SuperClamp loves to protect your bikes as much as you love to ride them.

A great rack for helping us explore new places to ride
Pros:
Easy to Install, Easy to Use, Stable
Cons:
Best Uses:

This rack is so easy to set up and load our two road bikes. We have driven our roadbikes hundreds of miles on this rack and don't have to think much about them after loading them up. The locking feature is also handy when we stop for gas.

Decent and lightweight rack for the money. Made in USA!!
Pros:
Lightweight, Easy to Install, Easy to Use, Stable
Cons:
The wheel straps are difficult to use
Best Uses:
Small Cars, Mountain Bikes, Road Bikes
I would like better wheel straps. Hard to thread the end in to latch and takes two hands and too much effort to release them.

So easy to use!
Pros:
Lightweight, Easy to Use, Durable, Stable, Easy to Install
Cons:
Best Uses:
SUV hitch mount, Hybrid bikes
Great value: it doesn't tilt away to access rear lift gate with bikes clamped to the rack, and requires a wrench to install/uninstall on the hitch, but we felt that those features (found on other models) added too much cost and a little more weight. With the bikes off and arms folded down there is no problem accessing the lift gate.
It is easy to assemble and lightweight to attach to the hitch receiver. Very easy to load and secure the bikes on the rack. The included cable lock feature is cleverly designed and convenient to use.

Pros:

Cons:
Best Uses:

I love this rack. It is very stable on my car. It is easy to use. I love the fact that it can be adjusted for different lengths of bikes. It makes me feel confident that my bike will travel without coming off. The only problem we had was getting the tire cups on during assembly. 2 were already on and two were loose. We figured it out, but instructions could have been better.

Great Hitch Rack
Pros:
Durable, Stable, Lightweight, Easy to Install, Easy to Use
Cons:
Best Uses:
Although I recently purchased the rack, the use I have given it shows that the Superclamp 2 is a stable rack that does a great job securing the bike(s). The rack was relatively easy to put together, even by one person. The rack doesn't jut out too far from the end of the car like the racks that are more expensive. I don't have the issue of the license plate being non-visible, which is also a plus. Although there is some sway, it is minimal and vastly less than my previous hitch rack. Overall, this a is a great rack that is much more affordable AND weighs almost half of what other racks weight. I give it a gigantic thumbs up.

Way better than a trunk rack
Pros:
Easy to Use, Stable, Horizontal top tube not required, Durable, No heavy lifting, Does not touch frame, Disassembly of bike not required, Lightweight, Easy to Install
Cons:
Price, Requires trailer hitch
Best Uses:
Mountain Bikes, Heavy Bikes, Small Cars, Carbon Frames, Unusual Frames, Road Bikes
This bike rack is amazing. It attaches to a trailer hitch on your car which is much more stable than those trunk racks where you just tie it on with straps, and then you can't even get in your trunk while the rack is on. This rack fixes all of those problems. The bikes stand upright in a tray. On other bike racks, they clamp onto the top tube. This is not ideal because I have a "ladies's style" or "step-through" frame, and with a top-tube-holder, my bike ended up at such a crazy angle that the trunk rack couldn't hold a second bike. But since this rack only clamps onto the wheels, it doesn't matter how the frame is shaped. This is also great if you have a carbon frame (I don't) because other bike racks can scratch carbon frames. This one won't because it doesn't touch the frame. It's also way better than trunk racks or roof racks because you don't have to lift your bike so high, and on a roof rack, you could forget it's up there.
The rack was really easy to install on my car. It's almost fully assembled anyway, and the instructions were easy to understand. It was an especially nice touch that they included a sticker to put on your hitch bar so that you can mark where the pin will line up with the hole. The whole rack actually weighs less than my bicycle (only 30 pounds, my bike is over 35), so it is very easy to put on and take off. They even include a lock for the hitch pin and a cable lock that pulls out and retracts. Both use the same key. It wouldn't stop a determined thief (honestly, nothing can stop a sufficiently determined thief, they could just steal your car) but it will give you some extra peace of mind when driving down the highway.
Also, Saris' customer service is top notch, because they are all in America. I actually had to call them because I had a piece missing in my rack when it was delivered. I had a 5 minute conversation and the missing piece was delivered for free 2 days later.

SuperClamp is SuperEasy
Pros:
Lightweight, Easy to Install, Easy to Use, Stable, Durable
Cons:
Trunk won't open, Can't fold up closer to car when not in use
Best Uses:
I won the Saris Freedom Superclamp 2-Bike bike rack from a contest held on TheDyrt Facebook page, and after a few weeks and trips with the product to do a review.
So far the bike rack has been up to Jasper National Park from Boulder, CO with stops along the way in Grand Tetons, YellowStone, Glacier, Banff and Lake Louise National Parks as well as a roadtrip from Boulder to Toronto, ON through Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Illinois and Michigan. I've gone on various road conditions over the 5,000+ miles as well as in various driving conditions (city, highway, off roading, and country).
This bike rack is incredibly easy to use. It is what I call "micro adjustable" just because the bike is clamped to the rack with a bunch of slide-able wheel wells and tire arms adjustable at any position.
I also love that it comes with included, retractable bike locks to secure your cheap or expensive bikes to the rack, then another lock between the rack and your car's hitch. I can't fully open my trunk when I have bikes on the back, which I would complain about if this didn't take any longer than 30 seconds to get the bike's off.
I was also impressed how well the rack held up when I went up Shadow Mountain with 2 on the rack to do some riding around the summit with the Grand Tetons as my backdrop. The bumpy road and constant rocking could've bent the frame, but it held up beautifully.
I made 2 video reviews over on YouTube with the same channel name (Sirius_Camper).

Pros:

I previously had a hanging bike rack and the bikes would bang into each other and/or vibrate during long rides. Using the Saris Superclamp, the bikes are stable and don't rub on any parts of the bike frame. I have been extremely impressed. At 70 mph, the bikes have limited vibration (shaking) even with aero wheels on the bike. I not longer worry that my bike will be damaged while traveling to races.

I bought this rack specifically to transport my carbon fiber tri bike. I liked that the clamps do not come into contact with the frame of the bike. This rack is everything I could have wanted and more! It holds my bike securely so I never have to worry while traveling. The locking bolt allows me to feel secure leaving my rack on at all times, and the built in lock allows me to know my bike won't go missing in the process.

Great choice for our e-bikes
Pros:
Lightweight, Easy to Install, Stable, Easy to Use
Cons:
Best Uses:
My wife and I recently bought the SuperClamp 2 for our e-bikes which together weigh about 100 pounds. Even though we are in our 60's the bikes were easy to load. Pushing the arms tight on the wheels secured the bikes well and gave us the comfort we needed to transport the bikes longer distances.
I have been looking for a 2 bike hitch rack for sometime and compared just about everything on the market (cost vs. benefit). Stability and ease of use were my two priorities. I just bought he Freedom Superclamp 2 bike hitch rack and it is spot on. I recently used it to transport bikes from colleges for my kids. They were blown away at how fast and easy it is to use. Bumps and speed on the highway do not seem to affect it. I passed another vehicle in bad weather with a bargain tray rack that was swaying back and forth like a palm tree! The Freedom Superclamp 2 was barely moving. An added benefit is that the rack is highly adjustable and there is no frame contact. You can't beat the lifetime warranty either. If you are looking for a fast, easy and stable rack this one definitely hits the mark!

Great rack at small cost
Pros:
Durable, Stable, Easy to Use, Easy to Install
Cons:
Best Uses:
I'm not mechanical, but rack was VERY easy to assemble and install on vehicle. Goes on/off in minutes. My wife, who had struggled trying to load her bike on our old rack said, "Well, that's easy! I can do this." While some people have complained about "weak locks" the cables (one for each bike) are the same size as our old Yakima rack built in cables. They aren't designed to leave bikes on overnight, but are more than adequate for "under way" or short stops. If you wish, you can always throw an extra Kryptonite on as well but aren't always carrying that extra weight (we have only a Class I hitch on our car) unnecessarily. Great help desk when I called for info before buying. Made in USA.

Pros:

Cons:

Best Uses:
Owned for two summers. Last year the nut for the hitch bolt stripped, had to pay to get the rack off my vehicle. Had to replace my hitch.

The rack is easy to put on and take off the car. (2016 Explorer) The only improvement that I would suggest is to make it so it tilts away from the car so that the hatchback can be raised and lowered without taking the bikes off. It rides smoothly while installed with no vibration.

Excellent rack! I've been using this rack for both my mountain and road bikes for almost two years and absolutely love it. I had this on my Subaru before with a 1 1/4" hitch but have now converted over to the 2" with the supplied adaptor. Definitely more stability with the 2" but I never had an issue with the 1 1/4"..it just wasn't as stable. With all the poor conditions in SoCal lately, the rack has help up with no issues.

Good idea, but...
Pros:
Durable, Stable
Cons:
Doesn't fold up
Best Uses:
Large Cars, Small Cars, Any Carbon Fiber Bike, Road Bikes
Got this rack as a gift to fit on both of our cars. Needed a bike rack that didn't contact the frame of a carbon fiber bike, and didn't contact the body/paint work of the cars, and roof racks are out of the question. VERY few racks to select from that meets those criteria.
After installing a manufacturer approved 1.25" receiver hitch on our 2009 MINI Cooper S, I mounted the hitch and placed 2 road bikes on it. It is a tad big on smaller cars such as the MINI. The hitch held both bikes well enough, but will need to be readjusted each time a different bike is loaded. I think the biggest negative about this hitch at this price point is that it doesn't fold up out of the way.
Another thing to note:
Cars like the MINI, where the receiver hitches are hidden or well under the bumper, this hitch is not easy to install or remove by 1 person.

I bought this because it was one of the few fat bike compatible racks that didn't contact the frame. Loading and unloading is smooth and easy. The bikes are held steady. It was a little beat up after getting run over but still works.

This bike excels at accepting all styles of bikes. The old top tube style racks work just fine for large men's bike frames, but are horrible for small frames, women's bikes, and kids bikes. Saris is a great company and their friendly knowledgable people have gotten me replacement parts quickly and at reasonable prices. In the year we've owned the rack we've gone through four of the tire holders, and one arm (the plastic piece got smashed) primarily due to other cars hitting the rack when we're parallel parked with no bikes on the rack. Because the rack sits low, and does not have a fold up position, when our car is parked and there are no bikes on the rack, it is vulnerable to drivers who do not see it. We would not buy it again.

Cons:

I've had the rack for about 8 months and overall I'm happy with it. It's well made and holds the bike securely. The hitch mount is very secure, no side to side wobbling. I haven't put two bikes on at the same time yet, and that could lead to a problem given the rack's design. It works better with bikes with larger tires such as mountain bikes, not as well with skinny tire road bikes. Although it doesn't fold it's small and light enough to put in the trunk when you're not using it. This rack would work best on a smaller car and in an application where it won't be left on the car all the time. One of the plastic wheel trays cracked shortly after I got it. Saris replaced it for free with no questions asked.

SO easy to load and unload
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I replaced a 4 bike "hanger" that used the crossbars. What a difference a wheel holder makes. fast and easy to put them on and take them off, with no frame contact. I no longer whine about having to put bikes on and take them off, and I no longer have to use straps from the roof rack to keep the bikes and the bikerack stable. I would have purchased the four bike model but that one requires a 2 inch hitch receiver. I will upgrade to the 4 place model when I upgrade the vehicle to one with a larger receiver.

Great rack with a weak spot
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
After much research, I bought this rack to use on my Veloster. It fits all of my criteria; no hinge, all metal in the middle (center exhaust), platform, tire clamps and it's easy to adjust.. oops... this is the flaw - the wheel holders' clamp is tightened by a wing-bolt that threads into a nut held in place by the surrounding plastic wheel holder. You can easily over torque the nut and strip the surrounding plastic. There should be a metal sleeve that is stronger and distributes the force over a larger area. Otherwise, the rack is perfect.
Saris - what will you do to correct this design flaw?
I only recommend this rack to others with caution.

I bought this as my first hitch-mount rack and I've been thoroughly impressed since day one! It's the most user friendly rack on the market and its stable enough that I don't have to worry about my bikes on the windy highways. Saris knocked it out of the park with the freedom superclamp.

So easy to use
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I want to say this rack should have had 5 stars but I placed only as one star hoping that others will read this review and not make the same mistake as we did. The rack is wonderful. We traveled 1200 miles with one road touring bike and a custom bamboo bike. We could easily have the arms lock down on both type of bikes and they rode like a dream with no rocking or squeaking. The mistake we made was trusting the locking system. The locking system was so weak that the thieves cut the lock and was gone in broad daylight with people around in mere minutes. Our bikes were gone. Heartbroken as we loved our bikes and had we only used better locks we weren't be out 1600 dollars which we had saved up for 3 years, plus all the researching on the type of bikes we wanted. So if you're reading this; make sure you get really good locks to be used in addition to their locks. Save yourself some heartaches

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
While we've used this rack only a couple of times, it has proven to be as simple and easy to use as the videos show. Feels well constructed and has simple instructions for setting up the bikes properly. Highly recommend this rack to anyone tired of using strap-anchored trunk racks, like we were using before purchasing this one. Well worth the price.

Best Bike Rack out there!!!
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I bought this rack because every other big named rack out there didn't work from our triathlon bikes due to frame sizing issues and them being all carbon frames ( Felt DA4 56 cmand Quintana Roo Dulce 54cm).
I found Saris (made in Wisconsin) and gave it a try. We bought the Freedom Superclamp 2 rack. It arrived and I was blown away by the ease of use and quality of the rack. Putting it together is simple took about 15 minutes.
This thing comes with the key locking hitch screw and a secured key activated security cable which locks into the other side of the rack which is awesome when you want your bikes on the rack and not worry about people stealing your bikes! Great feature when your at a race.
Once the bikes are on the rack, simply amazing again. Once you adjust the wheel trays the rest is simple. Push the wheel clamp down and done! It stays put and super secure.
Overall an amazing American made product!

So easy to use!
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
Everything about this rack is simple. From the assembly/installation, to using it. Loading my bikes has never been easier.
The Freedom SuperClamp 2 is easy to load and the bikes appear very stable as you drive. You'll be confident that the bikes are secure while your car is moving.
But this rack has three considerations: a cheap cable lock, the need for a tool to install or remove it, and the inability to fold up to be more visible and less vulnerable to other drivers.
The cheap 1/4" integrated cable lock will make you think twice when you pull over for a pit stop. Instead of having the visual and physical deterrence of the more common 1/2" cable lock, the integrated cable has little gravitas. You'll want to purchase a second cable or other lock, adding to the price of the rack.
To use this rack with a car, you'll need to get down on the ground with a 3/4" wrench to work the locking bolt securing the rack to your hitch receiver. That's not a problem if you drive a vehicle with high ground clearance or leave the rack installed full-time.
To leave the rack installed full-time, you'll need to be comfortable with it sticking out behind your car and staying low to the ground in daily traffic and parking. On a Honda Civic, the rack jutted out about two feet and sat a foot above the ground. With no bikes attached, I wasn't confident that other drivers, or even pedestrians in a parking lot, would see it easily.
That, and the inadequate cable lock, convinced me to return the rack and shop the competition.

Easy, but odd
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I've owned this for a little over a month and I must admit this is the easiest way to secure bikes to a vehicle I've tried. I ride a 29" MTB and it is quick and intuitive to get bikes on and off. I am a huge fan of the tire touch only method of fastening. I am highly critical of the system that secures the rack to the hitch. I would much prefer a system that allows a simple third party lock to be applied to the receiver to retain the rack. Using a pass-through bolt as a locking mechanism does allow for SARIS to state they provide a locking mechanism, but it also means that I need to carry extra tools, and the security of the rack, and my bikes, is at risk when the bolt stretches over time. The locking mechanism is the main reason I would not recommend this rack and would encourage another model or another manufacturer.

Just Great
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I have used the Freedom SuperClamp 2-Bike hitch rack about five or six times and am amazed at how easy it is to load and unload our bikes. Just adjust the wheel holders the first time you use the bike rack and you are set. Also, I no longer need an adapter bar for my wife's bike. I have not used the integrated locks for the bikes yet, but that feature will be nice once it is needed. Great job, Saris!

SO easy to use!
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
My husband bought this rack for me last year so I could transport a bike without someone's assistance to get it on and off the roof of the car, I lack the upper body strength. Love the yellow tabs to easily move the height to secure and release tires, built in lock, and is adjustable for different sized bikes. The rack itself is too heavy for me to remove but my husband can do it easily. Only thing that would make it better - if I could swing it out to get items out of the back of my car without having to remove bikes, fold down and maneuver around to reach truck items. It's the only rack to have!

I bought the Freedom super clamp-2 about a year ago. I love it. We have a bones that works well, but hard for me to lift my bike that high. With the Freedom super clamp I am able to put my bike on and go. The rack keeps the bikes secure and is so easy to use. Also I like that it locks to the hitch and has a lock for the bikes. The cable for the bike lock could be a little longer, but works. This is a perfect rack for me.

This is my first bike rack, so I don't have anything to compare it to. However, I did a lot of research and found a lot of negative comments on cheaper racks so I decided to make a good investment for my Trek bikes. Best of all, the bikes feel very stable and the included cable provides extra security.

Amazing Simplicity!
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I've used this for nearly 6 months; keep it attached to my Santa Fe Spring through Fall. Amazingly lightweight; clamps work impeccably well; exceptionally intuitive. Two small wishes: would prefer a beefier 2" tubing at the hitch point; also wish it had a hinge with a pin to lower the whole unit - two bikes does not allow my hatchback to open (altho one bike on the outside does). Love the design! Feels like it will last a long time! Thanks Saris!

Perfect for all of our bikes
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
Bought this rack 6 months ago. It has been on hundreds of miles of good and bad roads carrying everything from light carbon road to heavy downhill to children's 20" bikes and performed admirably.
I don't store the rack outside so can't really comment on longevity yet.
Included things like the locking pin and lock cable are a nice plus (at no extra cost).
Although a lot of plastic construction this has never been a problem and saves weight.
The only improvement I would like is that the rack be expandable to 4 bikes. This would involve beefing up the connection bar and added weight, but I would buy a 2-bike add on if the rack would take it!
The only mod I have made is to tape a pad on the horizontal hitch bar so that when the rack is sitting on the ground the paint isn't scratched off, leaving an area to rust.

An amazingly great bike rack
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I bought my Freedom Super Clamp 2 rack in July 2014. I love it. Why? It stays on the car all of the time and only adds minimal length to the car. The wheel trays are set and never move. The superclamps are set and all that needs to be done is raise or lower them to release/secure the bikes. Loading unloading the bikes is a snap. I had the rack on the car for a 1000 mile car round trip to do a week long bike tour. I could see the bike in the rear mirror and it was solidly in place. Finally, for the deep winter months, I removed it from the car...5 minutes max...about the same for installation, PLUS, nothing on the rack or the bikes comes in contact with the car finish. You can't beat this bike rack for the money.

The perfect rack
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
It was expensive, sure, but I didn't want some rack that kinda sorta might carry my bikes without destroying either my bikes or my car. So I'm now rolling with the Saris Freedom SuperClamp 2-Bike and I'm so totally stoked. It's super solid. Loading the bikes is every bit as easy as it looks in the videos. A few turns of the wrench and my 2004 Sequoia became a truly exquisite bike ferry.
I used the FSC2 to transport a pair of bikes from my home in Montgomery, Ala., to Tampa, Fla. That's 8-ish hours. No problem. Since the clamps lock onto the tires, there was no evidence that my bikes were clamped for 480 miles. It's incredible.
Thanks, Saris, for building a great product. And in the USA, no less.

Best Uses:
I bought this to use with my motorhome while traveling to out-of-town triathlons. I also use it on my Mazda 3 for in-town races. It works well on both and the locking devices are a welcome bonus so I don't have to source an additional cable and lock. Fat Tire Electric Bike Solution
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I bought this, along with the fat tire wheel holders, to transport two Surly Moonlanders (one large frame, one small) with Bronx electric drives. Even with the batteries removed, these are heavy bikes.
So far I have probably used the rack for two to three thousand kilometres or travel, including some pretty high speed cruising and rough gravel roads, all with no problems.
Loading and unloading the bikes is very quick and easy, to the point that it always seems like I must have forgotten something.
Minor quibbles:
The built in lock cable is pretty light weight and only barely long enough for our bikes.
The wrenching required on the hitch pin when installing or removing the rack is slightly inconvenient, especially in freezing weather, but this was true of my previous Swagman and worth it for the added rigidity.

Best loading/unloading. Doesn't tilt from car.
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I completed a side-by-side comparison of the this, the Kuat NV and the 1UP heavy duty two-bike platform racks on a 2015 Subaru Forester w/ a rear hatch and a 2 inch receiver hitch. All three racks were purchased in Oct. 2014. This is by far the easiest to use. Loading/unloading the bikes could not be easier and just takes seconds. Quickly loaded various combinations of triathlon bikes, road bikes and cruisers w/ fat tires and wide fenders. Lock works well. With no bikes loaded and the rack folded down while mounted in the hitch, there is easy access to the back of the vehicle. Took this on a 400+ mile trip. The bikes rode exceptionally well with no wobble and the hitch mount did not loosen one bit. Securely holds the bikes at speed including 75 mph. One-time, two-bolt assembly from the box then mounting on the hitch took 33 minutes. Assembly will be much faster with a ratcheting socket tool.
Hands down - I highly recommend this to anyone not needing access to the back of their vehicle while the bikes are loaded. This rack may allow access to the back or your vehicle so check it out. It does not allow access on our Subaru. When I made the choice of this rack I watched the associated videos, yet after the fact, I realized that I had watched the video of the four-bike version of the same rack. This four-bike version does tilt away from the rear of the vehicle. I am very disappointed to not be able to keep this rack and will return only it because it does not tilt to allow access to the hatch of our Subaru while the bikes are loaded. If anyone has any questions about this rack or platform racks for Subaru Foresters leave a comment to my review (or find my review on other sites and leave a comment) and I'll get back to you.

Super Easy to Use
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I got this rack as soon as it was available. It was worth the wait. I considered similar racks from other companies, but I couldn't ignore how much I liked the standard Freedom. It is A LOT lighter than the other brands...a big plus for me. It mounts easily and quickly (it doesn't come off often). Used it on a 1000 mile trip without any worries. My only wish is that the cable lock be a little longer.
As with all receiver hitch racks, there is a little wiggle to the rack. However, there is no "play". The "play" other have talked about is the rack flexing. They all do it so,....

Run don't walk to buy this!
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I have used this rack for the better part of a summer with a variety of bikes - several different road bikes, a couple of hybrids, and a 29er; all fit very well. Super easy to get bikes on and off, never a concern about marring the paint for those of us that are uber-picky about these things. Easy to adjust for different bikes. Never a concern that I will look back and see one of my babies bouncing down the road as happened (x2) with my previous (very poor) rack. Only (small) negative is that it lengthens my car significantly. I leave it on all the time, and I usually pull one of the "arms" up when I am parked in a lot to give people that are backing up a fighting chance to see it. Big picture - I have a major love affair going with this rack.

just got this rack, only used once so far. Using in a 2" hitch, there is some play causing the rack to move. I did not expect this after reading the other reviews. Maybe I need to shim the rack in the hitch?

Lots of great features
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
Once I got the arm attached properly (the instructions are a bit cryptic), install was a snap. I do like the integrated lock and for me, it's been really stable. I've never had a hitch before, and I wouldn't say this is "light." Like, this is not a Bones rack. However, as a kinda puny woman I can handle it myself. After a bowl of Wheaties.

Just As Described!
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I wanted a bike rack system that was going to be easy to use and fast to take on and off my car. This rack is IT! Assembly only took a few minutes (easy to follow directions) and it's lightweight enough that I can take it on/off myself. Placing the bikes in the rack is a piece of cake and I'm ready to go in 5 minutes tops! If you are looking for a super easy solution for transporting your bikes, look no further - the Freedom Super Clamp is THE BEST!

Easy to Use! Great Design...
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I was on vacation in the northeast earlier this summer and we rented an SUV that happend to have a trailer hitch. Called the local bike to rent a strap on rack for the week and they had one of these to loan out. I was blown away by how easy this rack was to use. Much better than the rack I have now. I'm placing my current rack up for sale on CraigsList and once its sold I'm going to replace it with the SuperClamp. Good Job Saris!

This carrier is even better than I expected. Very durable, light weight and best of all, it holds my bikes very securely without any worries of hurting the paint job on them. I highly recommend this carrier.

Happy with the Superclamp
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I own a Saris Bones 3 rack and have used it for several years. Upon purchase of a new vehicle with a hitch mount, I really wanted to get a rack that did not touch the frame as no matter how careful you are, some blemishes are bound to happen with racks that hold onto the bike frame.
My short list was mostly comprised of the Kuat and Thule product lines. I could not justify the cost of those products. I kind of stumbled upon the Superclamp product, and after a bit more research bought it (2 bike mount). The unbox and setup process was very easy. I had it mounted within 15 minutes on the back of the car.
I liked the light weight of the rack. I can pull it off and hang it on a hook in the garage in 5 minutes. The hitch bolt requires a 3/4 inch socket, which is I would say slightly inconvenient, I would prefer a mounting system that does not require tools. I don't know if the other brands require tools though. The construction is not as heavy as the Kuat racks, you can tell just by visually comparing the products. My wife and I just hauled 2 bikes out to Colorado for a vacation and I have to say that I felt like the rack was very solid and held the bikes very well. I was never concerned about passing trucks and the incredible wind turbulence that sometimes kicks up. The clamping mechanism does a very nice job of holding the wheels in place. Our bike frames are very different sizes, and there must be some careful positioning of the clamp arms to adequately hold the bikes, but it can be done, and once pressed down, the bikes are not going anywhere.
For the money, the Superclamp is a fantastic product. If I were hauling bikes every week all over rough country, I might consider another product that is heavier and has more features (like a rack tilt down for access to the car hatch back), but I don't need a bike rack every week, just on occasion, so it works for us very well.

Easy to use Rack
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
We purchased this rack about a month ago to replace our old 5 bike rack. This rack is lightweight and easy to load bikes on and off. After the initial rack adjustment with our bikes (took about 20 min), we can load up our bikes in less than 5 minutes!! The bikes fit secure in the tire holders and stay secure when traveling with the clamps. The clamps fold down to a pretty slim profile after bikes are removed. We like that there is a built in locking system and that the hitch lock and the bike rack lock use the same key. A few suggestions to improve this rack even more would be to have the hitch go in with a cotter pin rather than having to use a wrench with screw and the washer making a even quicker hitch removal, make the integrated lock cable a bit longer, and have the hitch fold up/down like the 4 bike Freedom Super Clamp. You can't go wrong in purchasing this rack.

Saris makes it easy
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I've used Saris products in the past like the popular Bones rack and have always been satisfied with their quality and value pricing. I recently got a Freedom SuperClamp 2 and was amazed at how easy it was it install. Very minor assembly and the required hex key was already supplied in the box. Overall I would say 10 minutes including reading the instructions. Installing bikes and locking into position is a breeze. The 1st time I used it after driving a few minutes I had to stop to check that my bike wasn't coming loose and it wasn't. This gave me added the confidence the bike is locked on rock solid. For a 1 1/4" hitch rack, there's hardly any sway. Another home run for Saris.

So easy to use and all-inclusive.
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I was lucky enough to win this rack in the CycleOps Virtual Training contest and let me tell you this is the nicest bike rack I've ever used. It comes with a lock to secure the it to the hitch and it also has a cable lock integrated into it to secure the bikes to the rack. With the Swagman I previously had these were all extra purchases. With no center post, loading the bikes is a snap. I just used it yesterday with our mountain bikes and they fit fine even with the 2 1/2" tires. All in all this is a very impressive product and I recommend it very highly. Admittedly I was lucky enough to win one but even so I'd say it's well worth the price.

Pros:

The Saris Super Clamp is more than Super. It is the user friendliest rack I have ever seen. All of its features combined result in a rack I will enjoy using on both my Subaru and Acura for years to come. I really like the lock cap that goes on the bolt in the hitch. It is well made (in the USA) and most importantly it safely secures my new mountain bike. I love it and will recommend it to all of my biking buddies.

Versatility and Convenience
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I initially chose this bike rack because of it's lightweight and compact design. However, after using the rack to transport a variety of bikes, I have also found the rack to offer a number of other desirable features such as;
* Quick and convenient on & off bike loading (in most cases easily accomplished by one person/one hand)
* Minimal bike interference (typically at bars, saddle or pedal points of contact)
* 3 points of bike attachment security (none on bike frame) during transport
* No need for additional movement of rack to open rear door of vehicle
* Rack extension from rear of vehicle 16 inches less than similar 2 bike capacity products

Great New Hitch Rack!
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
After many years of heavy use of my old Saris rack, I decided to try the new Superclamp 2 - bike.
It is much lighter and easy to use....Fantastic. Great looking as well. I am always amazed with the new ideas and technology used by Saris in their rack designs.
Handy trailer hitch lock is also included.
They have a winner here. No complaints, only kudos.

Finally the perfect rack
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I have been an avid cyclist for many years and used just about every style of rack that has been on the market for the last 20+ years. Many had good features, but there was always some compromise. Either is was too hard to install, too hard to mount bikes, to heavy, tough to store in my garage...etc. My new Freedom Superclamp works great and I have not had to make any compromises. Installs on my car in no time and it is very easy to mount our bikes on the rack. It really is the perfect solution for so many reasons.

Great rack that holds the bikes very securely
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
This rack is just about perfect. It's easy to install the rack onto my truck, the bikes are a breeze to mount on the rack, and they ride very solidly. A bonus is the built-in cable locks on the rack.
In addition, the support is first-rate. I needed a part and contacted the company. The response was great and the part was sent out quickly.
The price is high, but you definitely get what you pay for. I couldn't be happier with it.

just another great review!
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
See all reviews below; ditto. it's light, easy to assemble and secure. great price. I put it on my girlfriend's Sheep (Jeep Liberty) and i could only put one bike on it with rear mounted spare tire typical of the Sheep. But not an issue as I only need to transport one bike! The tire comes off easy enough if 2 bikes need to be transported and she has AAA! it's great for disc wheel TT bikes as well. Bonus is the lock system that comes with it.

just got my superclamp and I am truly impressed. on my first try I had my xl 29er and my wife's x-small 26er mounted in less than a minute! give me some practice and I think 30 seconds is within reach.
I can't believe how easy this rack is to use.
the last thing I want to do at the end of a long, sweaty ride is to stand in the southern california heat and struggle to get the bikes back up on the rack. with the superclamp the bikes are back on in an instant, no struggles with straps, no twisting seatposts and handlebars to make the bikes fit.
once mounted, the bikes are super secure with no unwanted swaying and no contact between the bikes.
in short, it's simply a brilliant product.

Great rack all around
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I bought this rack for my dad whose previous Saris Cycle On rack was totalled in a car crash. We couldn't have picked a better rack for his needs. He is in his sixties so the light weight of this rack is definitely appealing. He has a heavier casual bike with lots of added weight with accessories, which most of the other tray style racks will not support. The Freedom SuperClamp meets the weight requirement with no problem.
He has said that it is a breeze both to install on the car, and loading and securing the bikes to the rack as well. He also loves the integrated locks, which is such a great feature that other racks don't offer.
A great rack for anyone's needs!

Versatile, light, and quick: Get one!
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I bought two of these - one for myself and one for my significant other. We couldn't be happier. Installation was a snap. Loading bikes is incredibly quick and secure. The built-in lock is a great touch. I drove 350 miles round-trip to a race without any worries about the stability of the rack at highway speeds. Because the bikes are positioned behind the car they have a minimal impact on fuel economy.

Top Notch
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
Carbon fiber frames, or dual suspension mountain bikes (or anything with a unique frame geometry) are no problem for this rack. Once the cradles are set for the specific bike it's a cinch to load and unload. I have had zero problems finding a very secure arm position with adult bikes and 29" (700c) wheels. For a hitch rack it's pretty heavy. For a platform style hitch rack it's pretty light. Over surface streets or highway the rack moves just a little and it feels very stable for a lightweight platform. My only wish would be that the cables on the integrated lock were each about six inches longer.

Just amazing!
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I went in to the bike shop looking to buy a hitch rack. I was expecting to leave with a Thule tray rack. While talking to the sales man, I couldn't help but pick up on his enthusiasm towards the Saris SuperClamp! He had it set up right next to the Thule T2 and showed me both. I couldn't believe how quickly and easily I could load two bikes on to the SuperClamp. The Saris was MUCH quicker and easier to load than the T2 rack, and once on, I was very pleasantly surprised that the bikes actually felt more secure on the SuperClamp! Saris nailed it on this rack and anyone would be foolish to pass it by!
