We purchased this with our (small) tax refund and have been using it every weekend. Love biking along the Chicago lake front. Ever since we bought it, we bike more often.

Great all-around bike rack!

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I purchased the Porter for use on my Toyota Prius 2 years ago, and it has been serving me well ever since. I am able to set it up quickly, and I appreciate knowing that my family's bikes will be securely attached for both long and short car rides. I would absolutely purchase another.

This rack is perfect for a couple or young family. Holding 3 bikes it's great for traveling to vacation destinations.. a couple beach cruisers and your road bike to stay fit while on vaca. We love it so far and will eventually upgrade to something larger to accommodate a growing family ;)

The rack works very well! I've carried a couple bikes and have used it on a few different cars. I've used it for long distance driving and it holds up securely. Would recommend!

Versatile, compact way to transport 3 bike.

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
We use this rack on a hatchback (Pontiac Vibe). It is fairly easy to set up and use and holds the 3 bikes very well. My one complaint is the mechanism to adjust the angle of the rack is sometimes hard to move because the "teeth" don't slide out easily. But once it is set for the angle you need there is no need to adjust again. This is an affordable rack with a lifetime guarantee and it works on many different types of vehicles. I have loaned it to my brother and it works well on his Honda Fit.

I purchased this product this past summer so that my son and I could transport my granddaughters (including his & mine adult bikes) between our two homes. I have a compact sedan and he has a crossover SUV. This bike carrier adjusted to both vehicles with no difficulties. It is was easy attach to both and feels extremely secure.

I would buy this carrier again.

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I only started road biking in early February 2013 and was previously putting my bike in the back of an SUV.I was unsure about a carrier at this point as I had one in the 90's to carry moutain bikes and the bikes never felt secure when we were driving. The carrier also left dents in the car. At riding events I looked at what people were using and then talked to the staff at the bike store and decided on a Saris 3 bike carrier. After reading the instructions and taking some advice from the salesman at the bike store, the Saris installion was quick and easy.I am very happy with this product and ready to ride anywhere.

For the price, this is the best

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
Very compact when folded. Easy to install. Sturdy when installed. However, it is not compatible with bikes with non-horizonatal top tube (e.g., "ladies" bikes). It requires purchasing an extra device.

Would not buy this for an SUV

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
Mounted this on the back of our Outback and took our 3 bikes (2 adult, 1 child) to Michigan. When we got there, the area where the bottom of the rack was touching the car had actually wrinkled the sheet metal like a pop can. I am now faced with hundreds of dollars in car repairs. I don't know if other cars have stronger sheet metal, but I would be very very wary of buying this for my vehicle. I notice, too, that it was pretty wobbly on the road and my brother-in-law's rack from another vendor seemed to have more surface area touching the car, and it looks like a more stable mount.

I would recommend it to friends

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I use it to tote my bike an hour and forty minutes on I476 to the Poconos as well as locally to go on casual rides with my Friends. It is truely easy to use, light wieght and can be pretty compact to store when not in use. The only negeative thing for me was that I had to pay an additional $39.99 for a bar to hold my bike so that it would sit properly on the rack. And I have to buy another bar for my wife's bike.

The Prius and the Saris

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
We use the rack to transport our bikes to vacation destinations where we ride bike trails. It is amazingly stable and very easy to use, and the arms fold down nicely for routine trips around town.

Easy to use.

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I transport my bike to areas designed for biking; for example: canal trails. I was happy with the way the machine opened and closed, and attached to the car. One suggestion, after the bike is attached to the rack tie the frame of the bike to the rod of the rack so the bike doesn't move around in the wind; and I would assume if there are multiple bikes then they should be tied together too.

Very good product

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
This product is very easy to use from mounting it on the car and then mounting the bikes on it. The only negative that I have is that the product blokes a good portion of my Prius rear window. You do not have good rear view in a Prius anyway but this usit makes it worse.
