Saris’ Bike Porter Trunk 2-Bike rack is outfitted with adjustable features to fit a vast variety of vehicles. Constructed of sturdy, durable steel, the rack’s frame has 15 different easy-to-adjust positions. It’s held in place by foam-padded legs and four straps, each with a smartly coated hook to protect your car’s finish. The bikes are held down with ratcheting, anti-sway straps and rest in protective, grooved rubber cradles, which allow the shift cables to slot down underneath and away from the top tube.

The Two Bike Trunk Rack is of very good quality
Pros:
Stable, Easy to Use, Durable, Easy to Install, Lightweight
Cons:
Best Uses:
Road Bikes, Large Cars
We had been looking to have a bike rack on our 2009 RAV4. Because the vehicle has a spare tire off center mount Thule only offers a roof rack. Once we saw Saris's 2 Bike Trunk Rack we opted to buy it because it fits our Ford Taurus. I love the fact that it fits so many cars and that the Taurus sedan we have was listed on the box. For some strange reason we'd not considered putting a bike rack on the Taurus. Problem solved. Thank you Saris.

Garbage Quality, Damaged Car and Both Bikes
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I have been using this rack as instructed by the seller and I noticed almost immediately that the straps began scratching the frames of both bicycles due to the cheap flimsy design. The padding on the bottom of the rack split during use and created gashes in the paint on my trunk. Stay away from this rack unless you want your bike and car damaged.

Solid!
Pros:
Easy to Use, Lightweight, Stable
Cons:
Best Uses:
For my car, at least, this rack is rock solid! When adjusted and tightened down properly, I can move the rear end of my car by pushing/pulling on the rack. I see no swaying of my bike when moving down the road, either over bumps or at highway speeds. Note, you will need to further secure the front wheel of your bike to keep it from turning (not spinning, actually turning, handlebars and all) but that can easily be done using excess strap from the lower clip on the same side.

We bought this a year ago after owning a Saris hitch carrier. We have had the hitch carrier all over the US. Our new Camry hybrid does not have a hitch. Love them both. They will not disappoint. Great bike carriers.

Perfect for getting my bike to the local trails
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I like this rack because it is basic, easy to install and remove and I can open my trunk with the rack in place. If I am transporting my bike on a longer trip, I have another rack which takes longer to install but provides better stability on long highway drives. But this rack is my preference for anything local. I have had 2 adult bikes plus 2 children's bikes mounted with no problems.

stability issue
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
Let me say first that it's a solid, well-made, quality product. The only thing I want to point out is that when I drive at highway speeds, I noticed the bike and rack swaying up, down and sideways as I went over rough spots. My friend was driving in front of me, and his rack was rock-solid. I didn't see his bike move at all, no matter what the road conditions were. He has a Yakima, and the difference between mine and his is, mine has one padded stability cushion (the "lower foot pad") resting on the fender, whereas his Yakima has one resting on the fender and one on the trunk. The "upper foot pad" on mine seems to be undersized. It should have been a wide, thickly padded support like the lower foot pad, not just an arm resting on the trunk. By the way, I had the straps cinched as tightly as possible. I was pretty anxious driving at 60-65 mph. and looking in the mirror and seeing the rack and bike bouncing along. Maybe I'm not used to it yet, and need to make adjustments. Overall it is a very well engineered product.

Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I purchased 1 month a go for a Lincoln MKZ. Fits well and sturdy. After 1-2 set-ups, now easy to take on/off. Based on short mileage trips, would assume could withstand longer trips as well. There is extra length on the straps and I purchased cheap velcro straps to bundle the extra so they are not dangling. Very good value for the money.

Held well, scratches everywhere :(
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
Selected this since I am only an occasional cyclist. Not very easy to install, and didn't work well on my vehicle since the trunk edges are all curved. Ended up with deep scratches all around my car because the brackets are metal. Took it off and will return. (And buy touch up paint. Ugh.)

Lovely

Cons:
Best Uses:
I have had no problems with my rack thus far and feel confident within my purchase. I drive a 2012 Mazda Mazda 2 and given the awkward (and small) shape of my hatchback, I think that my Saris rack fits perfectly. It's easy to adjust and easy to take on and off. No complaints over here :) Completely worth it!

Cons:
Doesn't Fit My Car, Hard to Install or Use
Best Uses:

Purchased the Porter 2 as i had read some great reviews about it, One thing that was not accounted for is a rear spoiler. This makes for a difficult fit and some fiddling.. I am currently in communication with Saris support regarding this. The rack is still not on properly as per the instructions, the user manual does advise to refer to the website for special need fits if your vehicle contains a spoiler but i could not find anything at all covering this. If your vehicle does not have a rear spoiler i would definitely recommend this rack as it is solid and stable and does what they say it does. Just be cautious if your vehicle has one.

Exactly what it was advertised to be
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
Selected because of reasonable price and Saris reputation. Out of the box it was exactly what it was advertised to be. Simple design, easy to instal. Holds two bikes just fine. Haven't tried carrying the bikes on a long driving trip yet but can't see that it will be any different than the short hops we've made so far. In short, very pleased with this purchase.
Easily attaches to my MINI. I wouldn't really want to put 2 bikes on the rack for fear of bike damage (to each other)

A great buy!
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I particularly like how well the rack cradles the bike & holds it steady. Also like that although a little awkward, I can still open my trunk, even with a bike mounted on the rack (not so sure it would still work w/2). Only improvement I would like to see is a convenient way to manage the long straps after they are secured - I just tie them off, but it looks klutzy & I don't want to cut them off, because I might need longer straps for my next vehicle - definitely minor in any case!

Mounted easily on a 2007 Honda Civic on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning set off on a three day drive to Washington State. Checked the stabilizer straps as recommended and only had to tighten them slightly during the drive. At first wasn't quit sure about adjusting the horizontal carry bars to a full horizontal position and had to readjust to achieve that configuration. Very stable laterally. Very pleased with performance.

The Bike Porter Trunk 2 fits our 2010 Toyota Prius perfectly. It sets up quickly, and holds the bikes firmly and securely. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's still new and I want to see how it holds up over time.

Bike Porter Seems to be OK for Audi Q5
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
We are casual recreational bikers. Product seems to work ok but I'm concerned about how the clips engage the vehicle and if I'm going to experience scratches. I have an Audi Q5 and the straps seem to be quite long but are working ok. If you can improve the clips that attach to the vehicle it would help in my view. The dealer did a nice job of showing me how to install the product.

Very sturdy bike rack
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
I use it on my sedan's trunk and fits well. I tried driving over large bumps and worked like a champ. Not much swaying of the bikes. I did not take it on the highway but I am sure it will work well there too. The only problem I had was a minor one. I had to get used to rotating the arms of the rack. Sometimes one arm wouldn't move even when the yellow knob was loosened. It just takes some wiggling of the other two arms to get the third one in place.

Love this bike rack!
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
This bike rack is simple to use, attaches and detaches very quickly, and holds the bikes very securely. They don't move on the car at all, even over speed bumps and railroad tracks. It comes on and off the car in about a minute, and you can easily store it in the trunk while you're riding so theft is not an issue.
