Bontrager SSR road axel 130mm

Pros:
Good Breaking Surface, Stays True
Cons:
Longevity, Heavy
Best Uses:
I had a pair of SSR's that came with a trek 2.1 in 2011. There is a spacer in the hub for the disc brake in the road version. They started out rolling nice, but over two, three years it appears the bearing are going. I've replaced the hub and noticed that it is very heavy compared to the one I'm installing (new one is 300g). I'm adding some lighter spokes and it should make the wheel a more reasonable weight.

Have a a set off SSRs for about a year, over 1k miles, have had zero issues with the rims. Rides lots of steep ups/downs, confidence inspiring solid breaking. Could re lighter, but have held my 180 lbs well.

AVOID - Do NOT Buy

Pros:
Cons:
Spokes Break Constantly, Poorly Built, Needs Truing
Best Uses:
I bike 5000+ miles a year in rural Central Ohio, weigh 200 lbs, and really enjoy this sport. However, I am on my second set of these wheels since the first ones also broke spokes and splintered at the spoke area on the rim. Fortunately Bontrager replaced them, but these are not good wheels.(Period!) My rear wheel has broke 4 spokes in two months...not good.
