Description

Make the most of the trails with Bontrager's RL Mountain Shoes. They boast Bontrager's Bronze series carbon soles that provide tons of power transfer plus enough flex for hiking and walking. Complementing the great soles are Bontrager's ergonomic inForm footbeds, breathable inForm uppers, no-slip heels, and tongues that extend all the way to the toes for a custom fit. You'll also love the ratcheting buckles and Velcro strap closures, as well as the aggressive treads, which offer serious traction in the dirt and mud.

Cleat compatibility

In order to mount your pedals' cleats to your shoes, they must have matching bolt patterns. There are 3 configurations (diagram) used on cycling shoes, SPD-R, Look/SPD-SL and SPD. Road shoes feature one, two or even all three of these. Mountain-bike shoes usually use the SPD pattern. If you have any questions about cleat compatibility, please contact us. We're here to help!

Frail buckle

Pros:
Comfortable
Cons:
Wear Out Quickly, Poor Quality
Best Uses:
I bought some of these at a thrift store (what a steal) and they are super nice - the ratchet does not auto-loosen like my old mtb shoes. Fit is wierd, I usually wear a 40 and these ones are 41.5 and fit great. The buckle is VERY frail, it takes nothing to break them off- flimsy and poor design. Looking for another compatible buckle that will withstand normal mtb use.

Great shoes

Pros:
Well Ventilated, Arch support, Very comfortable
Cons:
Hard to Walk In
Best Uses:
Everyday riding, Long-distance riding
I've had these shoes for 4 years and really like them. I no longer get numbness in my arch or toe area on long rides. They work well on hot days when friends are wearing bike sandals.

Comfortable feet...at last!

Pros:
Simple to Use, Durable Sole, Easily adjusted, Well Ventilated
Cons:
Use caution while Walking
Best Uses:
Commuter shoes, Sprinting, Long-distance riding, Climbing, Everyday riding
After cycling for thirty years with running shoes and toe clips, I decided to try clipless pedals and this pair of cycling shoes. The result...unbelievable comfort and safety. Evenly distributes pressure on foot while pedaling to eliminate pain in toe and ball of foot (common experience with my running shoes and toe clip combination). Very light and sturdy shoes with excellent ventilation. I am normally a size 7 in New Balance runners, and was a size 38 in these Bontrager cycling shoes. Use caution while walking around...I found them a bit slippery even on flat surfaces.
