Sadly we must return the 18 and 20 inch Pugsley rentals that are on lone from Surly. If you want to take a brake from skiing and see what the fat tire revolution is all about come on by. This week only a full day’s rental is only $30. We also have a 16″ size for those of us that aren’t long legged.
Rudy Project has just let us know that they have 3,000 pairs of sunglasses they are blowing out a ridiculously low prices. Complete frame with lens prices are from $90-$150. Regular prices are from $150-$250. Not all models and lens options are available so give a call to see if what you want is available.
Enjoy the snow but don’t neglect your bike!
Once again Dave Byers gave the greater Teton snowbike community his yearly gift - the 3rd annual Togwotee Winter Classic. Sure, Dave doesn’t groom the trails, or mark the route, but he doesn’t need to. The very welcoming snowmobilers take care of all that. What Dave does is release the hype! “Good morning snowbikers” & “We’ll be seeing you at the Togwotee Winter Classic right?” are all you hear out of Dave for weeks leading up to this truly “classic” event. A website, a clipboard at the front desk of the Togwotee Mountain Lodge, and a route description, is enough to get the core of the local snowbike community stoked to head up to the Continental Divide and measure our winter cycling fitness.
For 2010 the trail was rumored to be faster then ever. Having missed 2009, I can’t say for sure, but I can tell you that my time of 3:45 was about 3 1/2 hours shorter than 2008. At the end of the day I was left with a sense of once again being part of what made Mt Bike racing special and popular from the beginning. Before sponsors, pros, and magazines, there were groups of friends that gathered on weekends and said something similar to what Dave B uttered at the start, “ok, the route is CD trail to the V back to the CD. You’re not officially finished until you sign back in at the desk. Ready….Go!”
Thanks Dave… classic!
