Teton County, the City of Victor and Teton Valley Trails and Pathways are all hoping to snag the federal government’s money in order to extend trails out both ends of the county.
By their grant applications, the organizations hope to cash in on the lifestyle and economic benefits of pathways that other communities already enjoy.
Teton Valley’s northern cousin, Wallace, is one Idaho Rails-to-Trails success story.
Wallace, has been reaping the benefits of the biking trail systems it accesses for years. Two biking byways, the Trail of the Coeur D’Alenes and the Route of the Hiawatha, attract visitors to the town. The Trail of the Coeur D’Alenes runs right through the town and the increasingly popular Route of the Hiawatha trail is a short drive away.
